"So yesterday kind of killed the fun of playing emotional dice today," Anakin said as he hopped up onto the stage. "So today we will do a different exercise: Meet My Friend. Turn to the person to your left: that's the person you are introducing. You do not get to talk to them. It doesn't matter if you know them--it's actually better if you don't. Your job is to introduce this friend of yours with the most ridiculous back story you can come up with. The person you are introducing is not allowed to laugh. Whoever stays stoic the longest wins."

He smiled. "And then you can all take turns introducing me to the class."

Well, at least Vi could be reasonably sure that no one in the class would come anywhere near the truth.

"Okay," said Troy, nodding a little, and looking Vi over carefully for a second before he considered what to say and especially the part about making it as ridiculous as possible. "So. This," he gestured over to her, "is...uh..."

Troy, she was literally in three of your classes, come on now.

"Di...Jaaay...Veerr... Jen. This is Jen, or, at least that's what I call her. Anyway, Jen here, she's really good at punching things?" Did he mostly just pick that because he mostly remembered her from punching class? Yes. Yes he did. And it would probably be the only thing close to the truth he would manage to get, and somehow, he didn't think she'd mind that too much. "And that's because she was raised in and grew up in a punching bag factory. So, like, punching bags practically raised her, because her parents were too busy running the punching bag factory to pay much attention to her, but it was fine, a wizard actually enchanted the place so that the punching bags could entertain her, and that might make it sound a little weird? That, like, her guardian punching bags were all, 'it's okay, Jen, punch us! We like it!' but they did. Also, she had a pet....otter that definitely could talk and gave her magical powers, and her best friend was a ghost of a little boy who died in the punching bag factory back in the olden days, his name was Jeff, and some say? That Jeff?"

He paused for dramatic effect.

"Is still with her here today. Oooo~Ooooh~oooh~!"

Why, yes, those were spooky hands thrown in there at the end, and a rather proud look on his face, because he thought that story was awesome.

Troy took a moment to draw in a deep breath, steel himself, and shake out any potentially silliness before one more breath, and then a nod, giving the person next to him a nod to let them know that he was ready, he was prepared, he was not going to break, let's do this thing.

Tell us his tragic back story!

Vi briefly considered her options. "As you've probably guessed by now, Skywalker is a stage name, taken in his youth," she began. "He was actually the heir to a long line of famous and highly successful wigmakers, not going to name names, but it's exactly who you're thinking of. But he caught the acting bug, and well, they couldn't have him bringing the family name into scandal, so they cut him off. Without a coin to his name and still looking for his break he was forced to sell his hair to a rival signalling family to survive. Ever since he's refused to cut his hair shorter than its current length."

"It's all true," Anakin said, face carefully blank.

Vi wasn't ready to admit defeat yet. "Now, that play we saw was from after he sold his hair, you all remember what it looked like." People who maintained their undercuts using the shivs people had tried to stick them with shouldn't throw stones. "But before that, golden ringlets down to the ankles. Apparently there even exists some tasteful portraiture showcasing those locks in all their glory."

"I was stunning," Anakin said dryly.

"Now, I'm not one to spread rumours, but I've heard that as soon as he got successful enough and came into money, the first thing he did was buy back the wigs made from his hair and he still wears them to this day."

And you broke him, Vi. He burst out laughing.

Troy felt like he may have used all his creative juices on his story for Vi, so he decided to go with a slightly different tactic here.

"Man," he said, shaking his head before hitching a thumb toward Anakin, "I don't know anything about this guy, all I know is that he levitates glitter."

Look, sometimes, you just read something during your radio broadcast and it stuck with you.

"I'm huge on the birthday party circuit," Anakin said, nodding along.

As one does.
