Tactics of War, Office Hour, Friday 6 - 7 PM FHT
Honor had never expected to host company in her office. Her hostess duties, however, left her little choice but to invite Admiral Alexander to accompany her. It was just before six when she unlocked the door and switched on the lights as both she and Hamish entered the room. She was thankful she had taken the time the previous week to hang a few decorations and straighten up after her last office hour.
"Well, here we are," she said, as Andrew took his position outside the door. "I'm afraid it's not a stateroom by any stretch of the imagination. And probably a lot smaller than even your office at the Academy."
White Haven chuckled. "I would imagine there's quite a difference between teaching at the Academy and teaching here."
Her smile quirked lopsided, hindered somewhat as her synthetic nerves sought to catch up with the impulses. It was likely the earl hadn't noticed, but Honor had. She opted, for now, to ignore it as Nimitz reached up and placed a gentle true-hand atop her head. "A few less perks, if that's what you mean," she replied. "But still rewarding." Settling into her seat behind the desk, she gestured to the empty one opposite her. "Have a seat. You can keep me company while we wait. I'm not usually swamped, so this can sometimes be a very long hour."
The earl returned her smile as he seated himself. "Well, then, Milady, I will do what I can to help you pass the time."
