Photography; Thursday, First Period [01/06].
Prompto had been looking forward to this class all week....for probably more than a week, actually, if he was entirely honest...so the fact that he'd managed to sit somewhat still (albeit on the desk at the front of the room) while waiting for everyone to get there was kind of a miracle! And once everyone was there, he grinned, and didn't hesitate a moment longer before getting things going.
"Hey, everyone," he said, "and welcome to Photography. If you don't know me already, I'm Prompto Argentum, I used to go to school here, too, and I've been an avid amatuer photographer since I was way little, and it's been a real passion of mine ever since. And now I'm here to share that passion with you guys! It can be a really great skill to have, especially nowadays with all the social media and everything, but there's also just something about finding a great moment and being able to capture it, instantaneously, on film, to remember, to appreciate, to just look really cool...you know? So that's what we'll be doing here. Don't worry if you've never even touched a camera before in your life, or if you've been shapping shots since before you could speak...hopefully, this class is going to be useful or fun either way.
"If you've got your own equipment you prefer to use," he continued, hopping off the desk finally, "that's awesome. But, if not, or if you just want to work with something different because you can for the class, I've got these," and he lifted up one of the five cameras that were sitting on the desk with him, "Canon EOS M50 Mark IIs," did he wind up going with this model just because of the EOS? Duh. Obviously!, "which are great for beginners and pros alike. They're on loan from the Photo Hut, so please be careful with them. They're kind of a budget model, but, still, you know, I'd rather not wind up having to take them out of my paycheck ever week, you know?
"So we're going to take some time to get to know how to use the cameras today, but before we get into that...I know, I know, it's Thursday, so you're probably sick of them, but I'd like us all to go around and introduce yourselves, let me know your name, your photography experience, and what you might hope to get out of this class.
"And when we're done with the cameras, you're pretty much done for the day, but you are gonna have some homework." He chuckled a little, since it wasn't like it was homework he would ever have complained about when he was in school. "I want you guys to get some good shots over the week, and come back to class next week ready to show some of them off to the class so we can start seeing what you've got, yeah?
"Any questions before we begin? Who'd like to go first for intros?"

"My name is Sakaki," she said, "and I don't really have a lot of experience, just taking casual pictures, but I would like to learn, because if I am unable to become a veternarian or a florist, I think maybe 'cat photographer' would be a nice career."
And don't try to tell her it wasn't a career, because she had whole stacks of magazines dedicated to cute cat photos to prove otherwise!

Camera Tutorial! - Photography, 01/06.
that will be completely handwavey because I don't know shit about cameras.Even if you're not an expert at photography, you should be an expert at this camera by the time he'd done with it!

Assuming, of course, it goes fairly well!
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 01/06.
"Um..." she hesitated as she approached Prompto after class, "so I have a habit of breaking things by accident," she revealed, "Xelaya has high gravity and I sometimes forget when I'm here, um ... are these cameras really sturdy by any chance?"
Re: Talk to the Teacher - Photography, 01/06.
"Don't worry about it, though," he added, quickly, in a rush as he remembered that she'd apologized to him for breaking into his office when she was supposed to be breaking into offices, he didn't want her feeling bad about breaking equipment if it was just because she couldn't always regulate her own strength! "Trust me, it's totally fine. Part of the reason I went with these ones is because they're on the cheaper end, so if anything happens, trust me, it's not a big deal."

Hopefully, the soft smile that followed would let her know that the laugh was touched more than anything.
"Even if you did do it on purpose," he assured her, "you'd be fine. That would just mean you might be stuck with disposables for the rest of the semester. Don't even worry about it."
