Oh, praise Jesus, she'd finally found it! Libby felt the most immense sense of relief wash over her when she spotted that large, glittery banner hanging over the waiting area for Fandom High, like a shining beacon, and not a moment too soon! This was the first time she'd ever really been anywhere entirely by herself like this, and it had been incredibly overwhelming. Exciting, yes, but it was a lot to take in! The only thing she could really think to compare it to was when they all packed up to go out to the Wal-Mart for groceries, but even then, she had her whole family with her. And now it was just her and a single suitcase and a pamphlet clutched in her hand, and she thought she'd get lost entirely in such a big place all on her own, but she found it! This was the place!

And she was apparently even a little early, since it looked like she might be the first one there? And even that was a little bit of a relief, because that meant she could just move away from the crowds moving around the airport into the quiet little space under the sparkly banner, have a seat, and just sort of breathe again before the next leg of her journey. An actual high school! Well, a little bit different, she supposed, because it was a boarding school, but as she took her seat, she started to feel that terrible and wonderful nervous turning in her stomach again, and she closed her eyes and she breathed out and she put her hands together to say a little prayer for strength and guidance, and couldn't help smiling a little as she felt a sense of serenity settle her nerves again.

It was scary, being out here by herself like this, but it was also thrilling, and she'd made it this far already, she was halfway there! Now she felt relaxed and ready, opening her eye and looking around for a clock, fussing a little with her long skirt and buttoned-up blouse and wondering if she should have worn more worldly jeans after all, to fit in better, but she didn't need to make herself feel more awkward than she already did with unfamiliar clothes. She just hoped it wouldn't be too much longer for the shuttle to arrive to whisk her away to the next part of this adventure.

“Oh wow that’s really cool, I have no idea what I want to do when I leave school, I suppose I’ll figure it out while I’m at Fandom, see what new opportunities I can get here,”

Well he knew what he wanted was to be a vampire but at that point he didn’t know they existed and there was the slight issue where he was supposed to carry on Van Helsing’s work as a Vampire Hunter not that he knew about that plan yet. He also wasn’t going to mention anything about his vampire obsession just yet, most people didn’t understand his fascination with them.

"I just found out that I want to be a nurse," Libby offered for encouragement, to prove that an inspiration for a calling could come at any time, especially when you least expected it, "a few month ago, when my baby sister Hope was born. She was the first of my siblings to be born in a hospital; the rest were all born at home, and they were all so kind and helpful. I just knew that was the sort of thing I was meant to do."

An actual calling. And not just to be helpmeet to some godly man she barely knew just to give him as many babies as she could.

“Oh wow that’s definitely a cool way to discover what you’re meant to do, working at the clinic sounds like a great opportunity to do that,” Guillermo said with a smile, “I’ll suppose I’ll just have to see what happens, I’m only a freshman so I guess I do have a bit of time before I have to decide at least,”

"That's...like a first year, isn't it?" Libby asked, with a tilt of her head. "They put me in the sophomore year, although I think I should technically be in the junior class? But since I haven't gone to a normal school, I think they were worried I might be a little bit behind."

Who were they? That was a good question. It wasn't like Fandom was about to offer her a more conventional education than she'd been receiving at home, but it wasn't like she knew any of that yet!

"It's first year," Guillermo nodded, "it will be a bit strange coming in mid semester, I suppose most people will already know one another," he said, he hadn't considered that aspect, he was already going to find it awkward being a new student and trying to fit in and make friends.

"Well," Libby offered encouragingly, "we already know each other, and they won't know us, so we'll be one step ahead of them there!"

Honestly, Libby was just thrilled to be able to meet any people who weren't related to her or in her church, so this was already pretty great!
