Student Council meeting (lunchtime)

Josh was waiting for the Student Council.

"Sorry I wasn't here last week--I had a thing." He looked around the room. "So. Prom, Poker night, other stuff. Tell me what's going on."

"I think our budget is 'whatever is in my pocket at the time'. Any recomendations for a restaraunt to bug?"

Elizabeth laughed. "So, we're not charging for tickets then? That's a novelty."

She thought for a moment. "Off the top of my head, no. It might be worth looking further afield. Places on the mainland will have experienced this before."

"All right, we are charging for tickets. Congrats, you're selling them this Wednesday!" Alanna beamed at Elizabeth. "And maybe get the Chinese place in town?"

Elizabeth's eyes widened. "Um. Okay then," she said. "That means we'll need to set prices and get them printed up."

"Let's see, we already have 500 dollars that need to be covered. Say about 50 people show up. Is fourteen dollars for non-seniors and twelve dollars for seniors too expensive?"

Elizabeth grinned. "Considering some proms charge about $100 a couple, I'm thinking that those costs aren't too expensive at all," she said.

Alanna blinked. "Oh. Then bump the price up to twenty-five and twenty-two? I have no idea how much these things are supposed to cost."

"Sure, that works. Gives us some capital to play around with for decorations, the photographer. How about band costs?"

Alanna flapped a hand. "Ask Pippi about that. Um, she's on band, and she and Parker are on decorations. I'm just the general over-seer person. Photographer? Wah?"

"Proms have professional photographers on hand to take pictures of couples and groups. For memories," Elizabeth explained.

"Um, can we find someone at school who can take photos? Or convince the principal to find someone?"

"Well, it's not just the taking of the photos. There's backgrounds and presentation of the photos as well," Elizabeth explained.

"...Right. Hi art class." Alanna made a few notes on her notebook. "I'm just going to be running around bugging administrator types Monday, aren't I?"

"Oh yeah. Welcome to event organizing," Elizabeth grinned wryly. "You might want to hit the art class up for decorations as well, perhaps?"

"Already in my notes." Alanna waved her notebook. As is: put up locked post for planning people. "Anything else I'm missing?"

"Okay." Elizabeth looked down at her own scrawled notes. "Prom king and queen. Voting, sashes, crowns... that sort of things."

"Okay, I'll get on that." Alanna added that to her list. "Prince and Princess too? For the Juniors?"

Elizabeth nodded, her mun just going along with it. "Yeah, that tends to be common," she said. "Who's going to crown our royalty?"

Alanna paused. "Who ever is doing the music. Wait, we have to vote for prom people too?" She sighed. "I'll do that then."

"Yeah, we'll need to get the nominations in, and then voting up until a couple of days before the Prom itself, I guess," Elizabeth said.
