Did anyone expect their moose-appointed superheroing teacher to arrive at class on a skateboard? They might have if they’d seen Stark around the island at all the past two days. He went everywhere on his skateboard now. Navigating the stairs up to the school had been a challenge and he had fallen a few times, so try and ignore any minor scrapes and bruises he’d accumulated recently.

Look, at least he’d stopped being a plant before class started. Imagine if he’d slept late for some reason! Stark was already terribly unqualified to teach this subject. Stark as a potted bird of paradise (which he would have called crystherium if he’d seen himself as a plant but he couldn’t exactly see himself when he was a plant) would have managed to be even more so.

“Welcome to Superheroing 101,” Stark said, hopping off the skateboard to stand still for a bit. “I’m as surprised as you all are that I’m teaching this. Maybe more. Probably more surprised. I’m sorry if you expected Tony Stark. That would have made sense. I’m just Stark. Or if you expected Kitty. That would have also made sense. Kitty was surprised too.”

Stark shook his head. “I don’t know much about being a superhero. I’m not one.” He just had a cool mask that covered half his face. Not in a maintaining a secret identity sort of way though. “Neither is my brother.” You know, the twin he absolutely always had that he’d never mentioned before Wednesday. That brother.

“So,” Stark continued, hopping back on the skateboard rather than taking a few steps closer to the students (why walk when you could roll?). “Introductions, today. Since it’s the first day. We can figure this out together. Maybe. I hope.”

"I'm Stark, as I said, and sometimes I teach. Not a superhero, as I said, not even a regular hero. I have started turning into a plant in the mornings but that's not useful and I'm very much hoping it stops soon." The skateboarding compulsion could also stop any time. He was tired of falling off when trying to navigate all the stairs. "I do know some of them though. It's hard not to when you live here."

Wonder what the frell the moose was thinking, or about why Stark was on that skateboard, or maybe what he looked like as a plant.

'What was the moose thinking?' was indeed at the forefront of Illyana's mind. That, and a sneaking suspicion that Strange hadn't even read the class descriptions before signing her up for things.

Who are you? Why are you in this class? Are you more qualified to teach it than Stark is? Has anything weird been going on with you since Tuesday night?

This class, or at least her being in it, was even more confusing to Sakaki than her last, but at least this teacher was an adult and not shouting!

Plus, she had taking care of a puppy to look forward to after this, so her mood was pretty good, despite all the strangeness of this class and she bobbed her head in a psuedo-bow for her greeting.

"My name is Sakaki," she offered. "I don't know much about superheroes at all, so I...I suppose that means this is a good place to learn more about them."

They could be confused about being involved with this class together!

Stark rolled a little closer on his skateboard before responding. "Learning about superheroes I think we can manage. I hope. There are plenty of people on this island who know about that I can ask for help."

Sakaki nodded a little. She wasn't really sure about that, either, but she'd also been at this school for the summer, which meant superheroes weren't entirely out of the realm of possibility.

"I'm looking forward to it," she said, hoping that was true.

As long as they weren't shouty, really.

Stark didn't get shouty during classes unless those classes involved Anakin and paint!

"Good. I'll try not to disappoint."

"Illyana Rasputin," she said guardedly. "My brother and his friends are superheroes, I guess. Though they're more re-active than pro-active in dealing with their problems."

"My guardian is a very well-respected superhero." And, it was implied, better at it than Xavier's crew.

Maybe you could bring in some guest lecturers, IIlana!

"You may know more of them than I do," Stark said. "But I know a few that live here. Unless any of the ones you know are here?"

"This-Kitty that works at the bar is an Old Version of My-Kitty," she admitted. "It's weird for both of us. She's married and old instead of being my age."

"This was meant to be Kitty's class. I only know the one who's here. Never met another of her."

Stark paused. "I don't think she's old."

“I’m Alara Kitan,” Alara said when it was her turn, “I’m a sophomore and I’m from a planet called Xelaya and it’s the year 2410 for me back home,” she said.

“Xelaya has really high gravity so when I’m on a planet like Earth, i have greater physical strength and I
I don’t really know anything about being a superhero but I thought it would be useful to learn,”

"Is Xelaya near to Earth?" Stark asked. "That's not a planet I know."

"Xelaya's not in this solar system it's ~~handwavey location explanation since it hasn't been explained on the show~~," Alara told him, "we do have space flight capabilities and are a member of the Planetary Union,"

"I'm Nell," she said. "And I sure ain't a superhero either. Maybe we're all in the wrong class."

"We can try and make the best of it," Stark said.

He might even bring snacks.

"I guess we'll have to," Nell said. "At least everyone seems nice."

"I try to be," Stark said with a small smile. "Not very heroic, but kindness is a good thing."

"Might even be more important thab being some superhero," Nell agreed.

"There's need for both, I think. And a few people who are both."

He's around. On his skateboard. Maybe looking for an opportunity to talk about that mysterious twin brother.

I went back to work Wednesday and I'm already tired but today is a day off. For reasons. Idk.
