Fear in Literature, Tuesday 4th period
Jon sat at the desk in front of the room, trying not to fidget as the students made their ways in. When the clock said it was time and everybody seemed to be there, he pushed his chair back and stood, swallowing nervously before nodding to them and standing up straight. He could do this. Just pretend like he was back at his first day in the Archives, only less of a prick.
"Hello. I'm Jonathan Sims. You can call me Mr. Sims. I've never actually taught school before, but I understand you may be used to that. This class is supposed to be about fear in literature," he grimaced a bit at that, "but we haven't actually met yet, so I suppose we'll start the actual literature next week. If you could please read "The Premature Burial" by Edgar Allan Poe, and be prepared to discuss it. For now, I suppose if you could introduce yourselves, we can get started with that. Your name, and...ah...where you're from, and why you're in this class." That sounded reasonable, didn't it?

Introduce yourselves!
Re: Introduce yourselves!
"I'm Troy," he offered. "Troy Barnes. I'm originally from Colorado, but I've been going here ever since an injury got me booted out of football. And, uh, I'm in this class because...it was on my schedule?"
Why else would anyone be in this class??
Re: Introduce yourselves!
He frowned a little. "I was given to understand you chose your classes here. Was that...perhaps I was mistaken. In that event, I should like to know what you'd prefer to get out of this class, I suppose."

Malia favored him with a little smile. “I’ll do my best.”
Re: Introduce yourselves!
Fortunately, Jon had a lot of practice in hiding utter terror, so anxiety was a snap.
Also he was rapidly running out of surprise.
"Thank you, Malia," he answered, doing his best to smile back.
Re: Introduce yourselves!
Nina's family situation was sort of complicated put that way, even though it made perfect sense to her.
"I don't know that I could really say I'm more from Greenhill, Insomnia, or Fandom Island these days??????????????????"
She shrugged a little.
"Anyway, like, I just picked this class because I like to read?????????????"
And she was super pumped about the homework.
Re: Introduce yourselves!
"I...um. Well, uh, thank you, Nina." He tried for a smile. It probably looked a little demented. "Hopefully you'll enjoy our reading. Wait - is...that is, I haven't heard of an actual place called Insomnia."
He was very familiar with the state. He hated to think there was a whole place dedicated to it.

punctuationenthusiasm! Congratulations, Belle, you were officially his favorite so far.Which meant he was smiling just a little bit. "I'm pleased to hear it. I'm not familiar with Misthaven, though."

...That meant Jo was probably his grandmother's age. He wasn't sure if that or the people from entirely different worlds was stranger.
