Adventures in Sheep Farming, Monday

"I don't know about you lot," Edward announced, "But I am bloody tired of the moose forcin' us to deal with sheep all the time."

Yes, he had once again been assigned the Danger Shop, and it had once again supplied him only with a replica of the English countryside and a ton of sheep.

"I say we give it the finger," he continued, "As you say in this day and age."

He pointed at a bag. "I brought many silly bathing suits and caps," he said. "And I checked, this-- room is full of soulless Englishmen."

He cleared his throat.

"The sea's about thirty minutes' run from here," he said. "I say we give all these people something to speak to the moose about."

He pulled off his robe to reveal... thematic board shorts. "Let's go, then!"

He was having a week. And yes, he knew it was Monday.

They vary from the skimpy to the very conservative. They're all... variously themed. And ridiculous. And some of them have matching caps.

"I ain't changing into one of those skimpy things either," Nell agreed. "And certainly not out in the open."

She and her long skirt and tunic top would go to the beach, but there would be no swimsuit wearing for her.

Edward eyed them both. "No one's askin' you to change into skimpy ones in the open," he said, gesturing towards the conservative pile. "That's why there's big ones and a bloody barn over here."

Nell looked at the suits then gestured to her ankle length skirt. "I need to be more covered, especially if there are going to be men about."

Edward kicked another one out of the pile. It had a weird cat print on it. "I'm married and twice your age," he said, "I've no bloody interest in seeing your ankles. That's why I got a variety of these damned things, so make actual use of it."

"I'm married too," Nell said firmly, "And my husband would be very upset if I were to wear any of these... things. I will run if you'un say to, but I will not change."

See, this was why Edward preferred working with pirates. "No skin off my back if you walk home soaked and water-logged," he said, "But you best be scarin' some of those villagers either way."

Nell nodded and turned away. She would have liked to argue about the necessity of scaring the villagers, but she knew she'd be doing it just to be difficult. She would run, she would glare at the villagers, and perhaps she'd glare at the ocean too when she got there. Just because.

Then proceeded to strip down and change right there because what was modesty when you’d lived half your life with fur?

. . . Look, they’d run so she caught one. What was she supposed to do, not carry a snack sheep with her?

Through the Village

It's full of NPC villagers who are definitely going to be scandalized. Especially if you take a moment to give them some personal attention.

She could get behind this whole “interact with humans” thing when it meant deliberately scaring the locals!

Malia enjoyed running into the water! The sheep, not so much.

But it did take advantage of her distraction to swim to shore and run away.

Eh. She’d go catch a deer after class instead.
