How to Ride a Bike | Thursday, Period 2

"Hey there!" Annie greeted the class sunnily, from in front of a bank of bicycles...with training wheels. What, like she was just going to unleash you on normal bikes right away? "It's good to meet you all in person. And see you, you know, above ground. So we're going to get into the actual bike-riding of it all, today."

She moved over to a bike and gently kicked one of the training wheels with one toe. "So, these are called training wheels, and if you're familiar with bikes as, like, a concept, you'll know that these are only temporary. You get to try riding bikes with these on them this week, just to get used to how it feels to pedal something upright, and then next week, we're taking them off."

So, probably a lot of falling in people's futures, next week. Cherish the training wheels now.

Ride your bike! By pedaling, which you should have down by now just through, like, bike osmosis and also that helpful pedaling lesson the first week.

Stark hadn't even gotten the virtual pedaling lesson on account of holes, but he'd managed to figure out the basic motion anyway.

Malia was frowning at the training wheels. She remembered enough from her previous stint as a human (aka the first nine years of her life) to remember that training wheels were for babies, which she clearly was not.

"This seems like cheating."

The peddling part was fine, now that Alara had seen the bikes in person, they looked quite flimsy and she was worried about breaking it. She was rather cautious as she attempted pedaling.
