"Wine" Tasting and Drinking Games

Anyone showing up for class today would notice some ominous bottles filled with clear greenish liquid sitting on the bar.

"So. Today's wine choice is absinthe," Jessica began. "And yeah, I know. It's not wine. Whatever. We're fucking drinking it."

She pulled off the cap and started to pour a glass for everyone. "The taste profile is that shitty black jelly bean you accidentally ate with a hint of dusty herbs that someone keeps in their pantry but only break it out during thanksgiving dinner so they don't really taste like they should."

"Oh and supposedly it's supposed to make you hallucinate but I guess that's a bullshit urban myth. So if you start seeing fairies or whatever then they're probably real. As for tonight's drinking game we're all going to pretend we're at some teenager sleepover and play truth or dare."

Because the combination of absinthe and truth and dare is a chemical reaction that Jessica wanted to see happen.

"Let's start shall we?"

"I think we all knew that when we signed up for the class." It was why they did it, really.

"You mean you actually signed up for the class?" Jessica asked looking a little surprised. "I just figured people showed up because they were gluttons for punishment."

"You handed over bourbon at the welcome picnic, of course I signed up for the class," he reasoned. "And who really needs taste buds, anyway?"

Of course...

"Should I have actually read the class description?"

"Well it did say that in the last class you have to show up wearing nothing but a bedsheet worn like a toga," she said trying to keep a straight face. "You down with that?"

"I might have to pregame to get there but I've done way weirder stuff," Nick said.

"Oh really?" Jessica said now leaning on the bar. "Well, you can't lay that out there without telling me more. Lay it out for me, Miller. What's your top five weirdest stuff?"

"First, you need to know that I probably don't remember the top five," he said. "Decisions were made and they were all bad."

Jessica was even more amused now. "Okay. Well then how about the ones you do remember?" she said refilling Nick's glass just in case he needed encouragement.

"I see how it is," Nick smiled, looking at the glass. "Slept in a parking garage once. Alcohol was involved."

"I've done that," Jessica said looking amused. "Alcoholo also involved. No shame in that. Surely that's not your top one?"

"Not the top. I should also ask if I'm going to get your top ones," Nick said.

Since she was a fellow garage sleeper.

"All right," Jessica said, musing for a moment. "I once convinced a sleazebag that I would murder him with my laser eyes."

She sipped her drink before adding:

"For the record I do not have laser eyes. He was a dumbass. But I was drunk at the time."

"See, I'd believe you if you said that," Nick told her. And he didn't even believe in the zombies because he still had never made himself look at the stage on principle.

Nick's ability to ignore the weirdness was very impressive.

"Well is that because you think I could or because I'm that intimidating?" she joked.

"Yes," he smiled. "In a good way."

The smile... actually disarmed Jessica for a moment. And in a moment of awkwardness said. "I can lift up a car too."

And then just looked embarrassed that she said that.

That was just going to make the smile bigger. "Oh, that I want to see."

A small smile crept up on her face. “Doing anything after class?” She asked trying to sound casual but her awkwardness was still readily apparent.

"I guess now I'm watching you lift a car," he said.

And then he assumed he'd be taking her to the clinic for a hernia.
