"Good afternoon," Hannibal greeted them with a smile. He was impeccably dressed today in full three-piece suit, magenta with light yellow plaid that reinforced the belief his superpower was making odd fashion look good.

"Today we are heading to Paris," he announced. "Paris is the capital city of France, and French food holds a special place both in Western cuisine and in my heart. Restaurant Guy Savoy is an iconic and respected restaurant. We have reserved the restaurant, and will be experiencing the set menu, which will give you an idea of a number of different foods. I hope that you received my ~~handwavy~~ message about dinner jackets, but for those men who do not have any, I have brought extras. The local language is French, which I speak should you need help, but I have requested waitstaff who also speak English." Well, they could, anyway. Whether they would...they were Parisian.

He gestured to a few jackets in garment bags hung up next to the portal. They were his, but last season's; if you were the type to not own a suit jacket at all, he doubted you would notice the cut being so 2020. (Hope you looked good in plaid or pinstripes, though.)

"Ready?" He nodded as they settled back with everyone appropriately dressed. "Then shall we?"

Get a jacket if you need one. Realize how broad Hannibal's shoulders are (or how narrow, depending).

Enjoy the colors of caviar or the artichoke soup with black truffle. It's all beautiful and yummy.

Clare spoke French! Clare spoke French with a Northern Irish accent, so the waitstaff was looking especially pained. She was wearing her best dress (from Easter) and trying to pretend that caviar wasn't gross.

(It was not her favorite.)

The only time Lucille had had food this elegantly composed had been at Hannibal's. And this was Paris, and a restaurant she would never have visited on her own.

She just wished Tisarwat could have been here.

"I never realised turnip could taste like this."

Seivarden had received an invitation, which was a nice surprise. She wasn't entirely sure why, but decided not to care, and had persuaded Breq to come along. No longer owning a dinner jacket, she was now wearing one of Hannibal's. At least it fit her acceptably.

"The oysters are delicious, but I admit I can never think of oysters without remembering... well, the Translator," she said to Breq.

Belle would someday have the assigned last name of French but she couldn't actually speak French. She still did her best to be polite to the waitstaff though.

"The color of this was a bit off-putting," she confessed to her dining companions while trying the artichoke soup. "But it's delicious!"

Breq was wearing a dinner jacket that definitely didn't fit. It earned her a few looks, perhaps also considering the gender people assigned her to, but neither bothered her.

"This was an unexpected surprise."

She was happy to live on skel, but good food was still enjoyable. Seivarden was clearly pleased to have her come along too.

Nell tried everything carefully, closing her eyes to tease out the different tastes, and tried to identify the different spices used. It was nt all to her taste, but it was all amazing!

He's here and enjoying the food. Possibly chatting with the chef.
