Did Steve have to show up in his Captain America gear? He did not, but it was something he knew he could wash paint off of and he was, at heart, pretty practical (even if he was wearing something semi-spangly). He was bouncing a water balloon full of paint casually in one hand and grinning. "Today we'll start off a bit easy, just to see what kind of level of combat skills we'll working with," he said.

"Also fewer bruises this way," Tony added. "Paintball guns hit pretty hard."

But you will be colorful by the end.

Steve gestured around at the course he and Tony had set up by the old, abandoned campsite in the woods. "There's plenty of ~~moddable~~ stuff to hide behind and climb over," he said. "Feel free to use powers if you have them today--we'll make things tougher as the session goes on."

"And have fun with it," Tony said like half the class wasn't insanely competitive or something like that. "We can get introductions once it's over with."

Or people could storm off because of the competitive nature thing.

This was definitely not going to turn into a thing! Anakin was widely known for how he didn't hold grud--oh, wait.

"Of course I will, Stark," Anakin said, launching four balloons in the directions Stark could run.

And Stark was always completely rational in his decision making. What could possibly go wrong here?

Maybe Stark wasn't going to run. Maybe he was just going to wait for Anakin to come a little closer.

Anakin was indeed coming a little closer ~~did anyone else hear kettledrums~~, a paint balloon hovering above his right hand.

Stark was crouched on just the other side of the tire stack, paint balloon in hand. Just waiting for Anakin's head to come into view so the paint could be deliveredat close range.

Paint on Anakin's head seemed fitting, after all. It was only fair.

And this would absolutely not backfire in any way.

Never!

Anakin's head came into view just as his balloon did, too.

Mutually assured destruction!

Stark was ready with his own balloon and absolutely aiming for Anakin's hair as he jumped up.

"Got you!" Anakin crowed triumphantly just as Stark's balloon exploded in his hair.

"Ugh."

"There's paint in your hair," Stark informed him cheerfully because Stark made poor choices.

Were you allowed to hit people with paint after you were out? Nope. Was that stopping Anakin?

Not in the slightest.

"That... you...That's not how this works," Stark sputtered, wiping paint off his face. "You were hit!"

Anakin, you cheater.

He was going to have to scrub his mask now.

"We hit each other at basically the same time."

Anakin, no.

"We did not! That's not how time works. You were already hit!"

Of course, if Anakin was going to be like that, Stark did have a couple of balloons left.

"Barely," Anakin said airily.

Stark narrowed his eye, and, oh look! One of those balloons was in his hand now.

"You. Were. Hit."

"Was I?"

Anakin "Gosh I Wonder How I Ended Up Falling to the Dark Side I Make Such Good Choices" Skywalker, everyone.

"Your hair isn't normally blue, " Stark told him, holding up another balloon. "It could be more blue."

Anakin floated over a dozen more balloons. "You really want to start that?"

"Are we sure it's not already started?"

You started it, Anakin! With the ice water!

But Stark lowered the hand holding the balloon. A little. He didn't really want to be hit with that much paint.

Anakin gave him a tight smile. "Until next week, then?"

Stark nodded and lowered the balloon a little more.

"Next week."

He was absolutely not turning his back though.
