Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

As was usually the case with these things, good weather was once more blessing the gathering of Fandom folk new and old. There was a bonfire, but it was mostly for decoration. And for s'mores, the makings of which were available at one of the nearby tables.

There was plenty of food, and there were tables and chairs set up all across the lawn (with light dustings of glitter where you least suspected it, naturally), and everything was ready for another welcome picnic!

[OCD up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

“That is certainly the truth,” Jessica said gratefully taking the bottle and the sandwiches. “So my class is apparently just for adults. Is there anything I should be aware of?”

Hannibal hummed in thought. "Beyond the standard warnings about the island? Not much. If you have to deal with the office moose, be polite; I understand he is unpleasant when irked. And if you need something other than a standard classroom, you can reserve the Danger Shop - it will program any environs you like. I've used it for everything from a burning city to a lounge area to a beach."

"Well, I'm probably just going to take over Caritas or the nest for the evening," Jessica admitted. "But if I need to get creative with alcohol consumption I might use it. And I'm just going to stay from any moose with administrative abilities."

"Probably a wise decision," Hannibal agreed. "Will you be actually teaching wine tasting, or is the class an excuse for drinking?" He wasn't judging, just curious.

"Yeah, it's just an excuse to drink," Jessica admitted. "I didn't come up with the concept. Apparently it's the moose? I don't know how these things work."

"It's generally safe to blame it on the moose. Or perhaps the squirrels," Hannibal noted. "I believe they've signed people up for classes before, too." He shrugged. "My class is an excuse to eat, so they go well together. I wonder if we'll have much overlap in students."

“All my students are adults so I do t know where the crossover is,” Jessica admitted. “It’s not like I’m carding anyone.”

"My class is open to both," Hannibal said. "Probably because drinking isn't explicitly mentioned. There seem to be a number of food and drink-related classes this term." He was signed up for Summer's monstrosity and looking forward to it.
