Office Hours

She's in her office 4th period on, tearing through books and videos and loading the good stuff into a box. Several times she can't help but laugh out loud. God, he's going to really hate me. Oh, yeah. There's going to be payback for this.

She's expecting a student, but anyone is welcome.

"Miss Carter, come on in." she smiled and patted a stack of papers and videos. "For you I even found the print out of Josh's contributions to lemonlyman.com. He posted to his own fansite. Can you belive the Deputy Chief of Staff had a fansite?"

"Thank you, Professor Cregg. He had a fansite named lemonlyman?" Sam looked like she usually did when she was around new and interesting alien technology. She started giggling again. "I can believe he had one, but why did he post? And what did he post?"

"Oh, it wasn't his. We all told him the woman running it was an internet psycho, but he just couldn't help it. He had to try to correct misconceptions about policy. Do you know what flaming is? In internet terms? Poor Josh, that's all I've got to say about it."

More giggling. "He got involved in a flame war??"

"They yelled at him. He likes to say he tried to stay rational."

She smirked and began handing Sam the pile.

"Yeah. Yeah he did."

Sam began loading up her bag. "I'm not sure this is all going to fit," she mused. "I'll have to carry some. Maybe stuff that doesn't look as conspicuous?"

"Oh, and do you know where I could get a copy of the Congressional Register offhand?" She tried for casual, but might have failed miserably.

She grinned and slipped some papers into an accordian file folder, then reached for a smaller piece of paper.

"Thank you so much, Professor Cregg. This is really great of you." She took the note, folded it, and slipped it into her pocket. "Thanks. And yes, most of the time, it's a glorious thing."

"Nope, completely non-lethal pranking. Er, I hope." She shrugged, mostly unconcerned. He'd hardly be the first professor on staff to try to kill her. "Anyway, thank you again for your help, and I'll be sure to leave you out of it."
