"Today we're talking about appropriation, which is a nice word artists use for stealing."

"Stealing is bad, wrong, and immoral. Unless you can convince people it's 'artistic' stealing. Then you can earn big bucks for drawing a moustache on a copy of that Mona Lisa painting."

Parker's wondering if the Mona Lisa in the Louvre is the real thing. Probably not. And she's wondering if those Magic Eye paintings are still paying the Centre royalties.

Angel doodled in his notebook.

This was something of a leitmotif for his day.

"Okay. Enough is enough. This is the third class you've doodled through. What the heck are you drawing?"

Angel flipped the book closed. "Homework," he lied.

"Liar. Lying liar guy." Parker scowled. "Can I see it when it's finished?"

"It's not - " Angel sighed and gave in to the inevitable. He handed the book over to Parker.

If she flipped through she'd see sketches of the lobby of an old hotel, the hotel's exterior, and a sketch of a baby (http://notstakedyet.livejournal.com/58649.html) if she passed by that page.

Parker blinked at them, surprised, having expected Callisto or Logan or Veronica from the way he was acting. "Is this that hotel that Angelus told me about? God, what was the name...."

She stared at the baby sketch, then Angel, then the baby. "Um?"

Angel tried to look innocent. "Yeah?"

"Cute?" She offered, weakly. Her recent conversation with Jarod made this even more weird. "Anyone you know?" Hopefully, not a snack.

There was a long pause.

"Nobody," Angel said. "He doesn't exist."

"Then why...?"

Parker decided to just let that lie there. Because swear to god, she did not want his brain on babies and pregnancy, and how that happens, and she'd gotten enough on that last night.

"Does the hotel exist?"

"Yeah," Angel said. "Hyperion is the name. Been on my mind lately."

"Hunh." Parker studied the Art Deco layout, and the sweeping area, and folded her arms. "It looks cool, actually. It was in L.A., right?"

"Right," Angel said. "Actually - are you going to be in the library tomorrow? I could use your help with something."

"Sure. I don't have clases tomorrow. Catch me around third period, that's usually when I'm in on Wednesdays." She cocked her head at the baby picture again. "How old is he in that picture?"

"I dunno," Angel said. "Maybe a couple of weeks? And third period. Got it. I'll see you then."

"See you then," Parker said absently, still considering the imaginary non-existed couple-week-old baby.

Wings could be damn scary, sometimes.

Jaye's having a crappy day. And Jaye might almost had the cops called on her recently for stealing. So she's gonna be a wee bit quiet over here.

Stark makes a note that all future stealing should be done artistically. He's not sure how that would make it better, but he'll go with it.
