Have Portal, Will Travel; Tuesday, Fourth Period [03/16].
"Alright, guys," Summer greeted the class with a smile from the front of the classroom as usual, glowing portal waiting and ready behind her. "You've been doing pretty well with the whole 'preparedness' aspect of portal travel, so I figured we can take a nice week off of all that stuff, no guest teachers, no imminent danger...probably...just a nice, simple trip to somewhere different for a cool experience. Yarple-7 is another planet, so, you know, the usual humanoid aliens that conveniently seem to understand our language, probably thanks to the far reach of the Galactic Federation, but the thing that kind of sets it apart from the millions of other planets out there in my dimension is its candy.
"And I know what you're thinking," she continued, holding up her hands and rolling her eyes, "candy, big freakin' whoop, but that would be the opinion of someone who'd never had candy from Yarple-7, it's pretty famous once you get out of the boonies like Earth where I'm from, and if you don't believe me, well, we're going there, so you can see for yourself, get yourself some candy, and just sort of appreciate a place that isn't, you know, Earth.
"Alright, then," she pushed herself up from where she was leaning on the desk, gesturing toward the portal, "you guys know the drill by now. Any questions before we head out for some sweet intergalactic candy?"

Listen to the Lecture - HPWT, 03/16.
Anyway, if there are questions or anything else before the class heads out, here's the place to ask them or let them be known!
Yarple-7 Candy Factory - HPWT, 03/16.
non-descript basic bitchalien with a top hat nearby for her to turn to for an explanation."Boy," she said, turning to the Yarplian, "you guys really upgraded since the last time I was here. This used to just be a little shop, and now it's...what? Some kind of factory?"
"Some kind of factory?" the Yarplian's face lit up into an amused smile and he gestured grandly at the building. "Why, my dear, this is the most amazing factory in all of the galaxy! It is my own personal candy factory, where all the best candy in the known universe is made and manufactured! And you can all have all the candy you want, if only you can make it through the factory's infamously delightful and informative candy factory tour--"
Summer shrugged at the students. "That doesn't sound too bad, right? An impromptu tour of a space candy fact--"
But that's when the Yarplian seemed to finish the sentence that Summer hadn't realized he was still working on, a sudden darkness passing ove rhis face. "--alive."
"...seriously?" asked Summer. "We're doing the weird psychedellicly whimsical and supremely dangerous, OSHA-would-have-a-shit-fit candy factory tour thing right now? Really?"
The high-pitched, awkwardly-maniacle giggle that burst from the Yarplian answered that one pretty succinctly, as a door opened up in the building behind them and he made a grand gesture into a bow toward it. "Esteemed guests first! And if...I'm sorry, when...we make it to the end of the tour, you can help yourself to as much of our famous candy as you can fit into your pockets!"
With a sigh, Summer turned to the students. "Alright, guys," she said, "I guess we're doing the weird candy factory tour thing. Or I guess you could totally stay out here until the portal to go back shows up, but, I mean, we're here. Might as well. Just don't, like, touch anything, that's what always gets people, and as soon as anyone starts singing moralistic songs about your bad behavior, we are so out of here."
[[ this is based literally on absolutely nothing except one throw-away line in a comic, so please feel free to mod as much of this make-believe whacky candy factory as you damn well please. it's a completely open book and NOT AT ALL INSPIRED BY ANYTHING ELSE OR ANYTHING, REALLY *coughcoughcough* ]]

And it was probably for the best she could politely decline licking any wallpaper instead of yelling about it.
Talk to Summer - HPWT, 03/16.
If any of her students wound up in a chocolate river or turning into a yarberry, they were so getting marked down for it.

Because who doesn't love taking a barely-mentioned part of your canon and turning it into an overused trope based entirely on nostalgia??
