Cognitive Logic in Understanding Evidence; Wednesday, Second Period [03/03].
The 'dinner party' was gathering in the lounge that morning, where they could each find a comfy seat and get ready to listen as Detective D paced in front of a board where she'd written some notes.
"Okay," she said, "we've just had a break, but it's time to really start narrowing in on this killer before they strike again. After all, the maid and the butler are still missing. We've got a few ideas on how it was done, which weapons were used, but today, we're going to focus on who done it. And how to start breaking down motives to narrow it down. So I put together a nice refresher of who everyone is and why they might be a little suspect, from my own personal experience. So here's what we have, what we might speculate, and we'll see what else we can all add to the board:
EnolaMay Beatrice Posey: distant relative.
recent widow thanks to 'bizarre gardening accident'
Claims to not be close to Mr. Corpse...so why is she here??
Wayne Wayne: dog breeder
But has anyone actually SEEN Mr. Corpse's dog??
Elli Piper Grace: sponsored by Mr. Corpse
Mother and victim were 'good friends', bears a passing resemblance to her benfactor
Seems unlikely to benefit from Corpse's death, unless there's some missing piece
Alexis Alexa Daisy: lover
Has anyone gotten in touch with Mr. Corpse's lawyer? Any recent changes to the will?
How long as this affair been going on, even?
Julius Julian Hart: also sponsored by Mr. Corpse
More for social clubs than nursing school
Strong family connections
Perhaps Mr. Corpse stood in the way of some social mobility?
Alara Solana Sage: father is head of the board of the university where Mr. Corpse donates to often
Overlapping social circles
Another rising star finding Corpse's continued state of being alive problematic to her own interests?
Arabella Bella St. Vier: father was college friends with Mr. Corpse
Mr. Corpse bought father's company when father was ill
How is that company doing? Is there lingering resentment from this transaction, perhaps?
Nell Marinelle (or "Belle") Fenster: met Mr. Corpse while 'doing good works'
Corpse was involved with many charible pursuits: which ones specifically?
Or is this merely a euphemism for something far more dastardly?
Lana Nala Kenobi: has never actually met Mr. Corpse
Was attending this dinner in hopes to see if he would be amenible to a business partnership
(Or perhaps...amenible to DEATH?)
Rosa Dectective D: ?????
???????
"So," Rosa concluded after going over each of the entries she'd collected, "as you can see, on the surface level, at the very least, there are a few speculations we can build on. Are they worth our time? Is it something far below the surface? That's what we need to start figuring out to help us narrow down a culprit. Are they any objections to these statements on the board here? Anything you think should be added? Or explored deeper? The doors are locked; no one is leaving this room until the end of the class period. We'd better make the most of it."
