Western Lit. (04/10/06)

"Good morning, class. I apologize for my absence last week, and I hope that the extra week is positively reflected in your quiz answers. Please pass them to the front now."

"This week, we'll be talking about Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. In conjunction with this, we'll be watching The Hours, a film by Michael Cunningham, which will take the place of my usual lecture as I work off this hangover."

Miles starts the movie and then goes back to his desk to grade the quizzes. After the film is over, he asks the class to turn in their topics for their final.

"You'll be presenting your essays to the class on the 24th, so please be prepared. While the bare minimum requirement is simply reading your work, those who exceed expectations will be given better grades. I leave it up to you to decide how to do that. Have a good day."

"For next week, read Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird and come ready to discuss."

Alphonse turned in his quiz; the answers may be a little inaccurate.

Kawalsky handed in the quiz. The writing style was a little dry, but professional and to the point after years of writing reports. The answers almost get there, but there's definitely nothing there worth higher than a B-.

Isabel turned in quiz. Given the extra week to work on it, it's well thought out and hits all the relevant points.

Hamlet turns in the quiz. Due to him being in class during those classes while his mun was dealing with heavy RL stuff, most of the salient points are there, although there's a little something missing from the answers.
