That week, it appeared that while the Conservatory they were meeting in was familiar, the teacher instructing them was (for the most part) not. So Amaya gave a nod to them once it was time to begin and launched into a greeting/explanation.

"Morning, everyone," she said. "For those of you who don't know me already, I'm Amaya Blackstone, I teach shop class and weaponry around here and run the local blacksmith shop. You're probably wondering what happened to Dia--err, Detective D this week, but don't worry! She's not fake murdered for your fake mystery, or anything like that, she's just a little too deep in a real case to be spending time on a fake case, she says. So she asked me to step in today and run a class on weapons. Specifically, murder weapons. Specifically specifically, these," it was now time for her to gesture to the table in front of her and the six objects laying on top of it, "potential murder weapons. One of these items is likely the thing that killed your Mr. Corpse, and today's we're going to explore what it might have been, as well as the whys and hows and potential for each object.

"Now some of 'em, like the revolver here, are a little obvious on how they could have been used, but others, like let's say the wrench, well, you can get a little more creative with something like that. Some of them, like the dagger, likely have a few different options on the how. So let's take a moment, have a look at our potential weapons, and speculate not only on how they could have been used, but maybe figure out ways on how to narrow in on which one was actually used in this particular case."

As far as weapons go, these ones are pretty boring by Amaya's book, so it's short and sweet and to the point, and in the Conversatory only because it has the best space for what she'd wanting to do and she just really liked the plants. Even if they are fake.

There's a rope, a dagger, a revolver, a wrench, a candlestick, and a lead pipe. Give 'em a good look over for clues and hints and confer and speculate with your fellow investigators/party guests as to what might have been the one item to have finally done Mr. Corpse in!

"It would help if we could compare these objects to the wounds on the body," Lana pointed out. That really was the logical thing to do.

"That's a very good point," said Amaya with an agreeing, approving nod. "The type of damage done can be traced back to what might have done the damage!"

And then there was maybe a bit of an awkward pause.

"Err, does anyone know what the wounds might have been?"

She was just a sub, after all, and sometimes Diaz wasn't exactly generous with details.

Who only has a vague idea of what's going on in this class, but she's got a few theories of her own. Are they based entirely on what makes for the better story and use of weapon? Oh, you bet it does! Which means it's probably wrong, but still!

Because what's the point of having a million teachers if you can't just decided to have them teach each other's classes all the time?

One week, I should have no one teaching their own classes, and everyone teaching everyone else's. That could be fun!

I need more coffee.
