Creature Languages, 4/10, Period 4

There is a rather interesting creature [OOC: The little one, not Kermie!] perched on a ~~parrot~~ lobster stand at the front of class today.

Dream nodded toward him as he passed out vocabulary sheets. "Hello. I enjoyed watching you work on the Lobster folk dance on Thursday. Today, we are going to learn Lobster in more depth. Our guest lecturer is Polly, who was "raised from a fingerling" on a pirate ship."

"Review your vocabulary sheets, then ask Polly questions at will."

Pippi signs in.

Mr. Neilson leaves a paw print.

Questions for the lobster?

Goof off, pass notes, etc.

Pippi looked over her vocabulary sheet carefully.

//Greetings!// she ventured. //I was raised by pirates too. It is very nice to meet you.//

Polly eyed Dream before responding to Pippi.

//Pirates! Oh-ho-ho! That's rich! Pirates? What an imagination.// "Give me a cracker."

Walter signs in.

This is actually a reaction Pippi is rather used to, so it doesn't bother her. Nor does she bother arguing with him.

She does, however, produce a cracker and offers it to Polly.

//The nice man,// she motioned to Dream, //Said you were raised by a pirate. What was he called?//

Polly took the cracker in his good claw and nibbled on it before answering.

//I was raised by a sailor named Long John Silver.// "Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!" The lobster gave a loud squawk.

Walter eyed the lobster and decided that "you look delicious" is not a good opening when speaking to a crustacean. "Pass the butter" was also a poor introduction.

//Good morning.// He scanned the vocabulary sheet and felt hindered by his lack of actual claws. //Do lobsters have wars?//

Great googally moogally! THE Long John frakking Silver!?

Needless to say, Pippi was impressed.

"Wow..." //What was he like?//

Jake signs in.

//Oh, sure. Everybody fights. But to call them wars is probably giving the lobsters too much credit.// Polly whistled. "Give me a cracker."

//He was a cook and the finest sailor I ever met.// Polly squawked again and nibbled on the cracker some more.

//What did he cook?//

"I don't have any crackers." Alfred would have had a cracker. Alfred also had a live lobster tank at Cafe Fina. This was going to make serving them in an entree capacity problematic in the future.

//Why are you a lobster on land?//

Draco signs in.

Victor signs in.

Draco raises an eyebrow to the muppet lobster. He wonders if the Chef knew him.

//You ever go on a treasure hunt?// asked Draco.

Ah, Polly the finiest crustacean a man could ask for!

*goes off to watch Muppet Treasure Island*

After a few moments of looking over his sheet, Victor asked, //What games do you play for fun?//

//Do you drink that liquid of love called coffee?// Jake asked.
