Pippi takes a little of everything, and an extra helping of the Croomb Ceke-a.

Hmmm, croomb ceke-a.

She sits by the window and eats thoughtfully.

"Vos cheveux sont nouveaux," Pip said as he slid into the seat across from Pippi.

"Jag inte förstå vad du säga." she answered, two can play at this game.

"Je l'aime," Pip said, cutting his meatloaf. "Beaucoup plus mûres que les tresses. Marques que vous semblez plus âgé."

Pippi decides to switch to Parseltoung.

//I have no idea what you are saying.// she makes subtle hissing noises and S sounds at him. //But it's oddly compelling. Tell me more.//

"Okay, that? Is definitely not Sweedish."

Pippi laughed.

"It's Parseltoung." she said. "Snakes speak it." She took a bite of her lunch.

"That's what you get for not taking Creature Languages with Walter, Victor, and I."

"And it haunts me every night, knowing that I'll never be able to speak to dogs, especially considering how useful a skill it is in my family's line of work," Pip said through a bite of meatloaf.

"You can always hire one of us as an independent consultant."

"Well, if such a situation comes up, I'll be sure to let you or Victor no. If I do my math right, by the time me and Walter's timelines catch up, he'll be the one hiring me for anything."

Nadia wandered over to the table with a tray piled rather high with everything the Chef had on offer. She yawned as she approached. "Hey."

That gave Pippi some pause for thought. One of the reasons she started growing again was so she didn't have to watch friends grow old without her.

Technically, Walter was already an old man. Somewhere, out there.

"Huh."

She brightened when Nadia sat down.

"Hey!"

"Bonjour," Pip said. "Nous attendons Anders pour parler de la partie de piscine, mais vous êtes plus que la bienvenue à reposer avec nous."

Fortunately, Nadia had not heard that part of their conversation. Attempting to resolve the fact that Walter was, technically, at a grandfatherly age would possibly have made her brain explode.

Instead, she blinked at Pip. "Sí, porqué no. ¿Por qué usted está hablando en francés?"

[ooc: oui!]

"I think he just said that we're waiting for Anders so we can plan the pool party... Anything beyond that is French to me..." she explained throwing the tomato from her Seled at Pip.

"I've gotten a lot of complements on my hair today by the way!"

Nadia smiled. "I'm glad. I have some other ideas, if you would like to try them."

"Yeah!" she says, "That would be fun!"

She popped open a soda.

"I have a class 4th period. Do you want to go shopping after that?"

"Of course. We could get you some hair things, too, while we're looking for swim suits."

"Oh, you did her hair?" Pip asked, muching on the tomato. "Good job, it looks really good on her."

"Yes, we did it last night. I'm glad you like it." Nadia cast a quick glance between Pip and Pippi, and started plotting.

And possibly doing other things that start with P.

[ooc: Fact ja? Das is gut, ja?]

"Didn't she though?" said Pippi sipping her soda.

"What kind of other hair stuff?"

Nadia shrugged. "Barrettes, maybe hairbands? To keep it out of your face when you wear it down. Maybe a little bit of gel, but we could make that for much cheaper."

Pip pushed back in his chair. "For a guy with long hair, I know very little about the way this stuff works. I'm gonna stay out of the conversation."

Nadia's eyes flicked to Pip again.

She could do some fabulous things with his hair. . . .

"You could come with us," she said, a picture of innocense and light. "Help us pick out our new swim suits?"

Pip raised an eyebrow. On the one hand. Swimsuits.

On the other hand, he had seen Nadia lying enough yesterday to suspect that something was up.

"Eh, I'm not doing anything. Except class, of course."

Pippi has not seen Somthing About Mandy, so the obvious joke escapes her.

"What do you make hair gel out of?"

Thinking about meddling in other people's love lives beat the hell out of wondering if she was losing her mind.

She wondered if she could get Pippi to try on a Bitterwoman costume.

Then she frowned, because where had that come from?

She smiled at Pip, then turned to Pippi. "Gelatin and water. If you want it to smell nice, you can use a little bit of perfume, too, but all you really need is the gelatin."

Pippi seems about to say something when the PA in the Caf crackles to life (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/795176.html), spewing forth the dulcet crooning of Mr. Lionel Ritchie.

"What the..."

Pip blinked. "I think that that's Lionel Ritche," he said.

Nadia nodded calmly. "The Dean announced it right before lunch. Apparently, it might be doing that all day."

She shrugged. "At least it's not a lemur attack."

Pippi gives this some thought.

"Yeah. I don't think Lionel Ritchie is going to take our food."

"Or our guitars," Pip said.

Nadia tried to picture him doing so. It didn't really work, since she didn't know what Lionel Ritchie looked like.

She ended up with a guy with a lion's head and a man's body coming up and snatching Pippi's cake while strumming her guitar.

Maybe she hadn't dreamed last night because her brain was busy making up bizarro images for her to imagine when she was awake?

"So." Pippi said. "Pool party."

"If Anders doesn't show up soon, I say we make an executive decision."

"Thursday?" Pippi suggested.

"Thursday," Pip responded. "There. If Anders doesn't like it, he should listen to his messages more often."

Pippi shrugged.

"What do we need for a pool party besides swim-suits and foodstuffs?"

Nadia nodded, glad for any distraction from her thoughts. "And shopping."

"And shopping!" Pippi agreed with glee.

"Like I said, my last class is 4th period."

"I don't have any more classes today, so I'm free whenever you guys are," Nadia said, glancing once again over at Pip. "So, are you going to join us?"

Pippi looked up to see what Pip's answer was.

Pip shrugged. "Sure. My only class today is last period. So we just have to get back before that so I can get to Tactics of War."

Nadia nodded happily. Her devious plot was exactly on schedule! Or, it would be, if it had a schedule, and hadn't been thought of no more than five minutes before.

"Great! Should we go to All and Sundries, do you think, or another store?"

"Where else is there to go?"

Nadia blinked. "Good point. All and Sundries it is."
