Psych 101 (Monday, 04/10/2006, 3rd Period)

1. Define 'hypothesis.' (OOC: Oh, look, it's the link to that class. How surprising.)

1. An explanation formulated to explain facts or observations.

2. It shows very handily that people are happy to go with a majority in order to gain acceptance, even if the majority is completely, utterly wrong.

3. The God Helmet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God_helmet) experiment is a dubious proposition at best. The lack of information gives no insight on the spectrum of experimental subjects - did they previously believe in God, or the earthly presence of the dead? The information presented is not enough to form much of an opinion on, much less count as a study of much worth.

Krycek spaced off a little as he got to the last question, possibly imagining many things he could do in the name of experimentation upon fellow students.

1. An explanation of a phenomenon, used to predict another phenomenon.

2. People are very willing to go along with the majority. That is kind of disturbing, but not entirely surprising.

3. I don't think I really agree with the Bobo doll experiment. How you treat a toy is not the same as how you treat a living thing. Just because a child mimics agression towards a toy, that doesn't mean it would hold true in another situation.

4. (Insert a handwavey sort of proposal involving choice blindness, because Stark thinks it might be fun to mess with someone else's head for a change)

Krycek waited until the class had filed out before approaching Ms Calendar. "Ma'am?"

"Alex, hi," said Jenny. "What can I do for you today?"

"Well, I realize I've missed a few classes," he said slowly, carefully penitent. "I was wondering if there was something I could do to make them up."

"A few?" asked Jenny, sounding amused. "Maybe more than a few, when you total up both of the classes. What's the problem been, anyway?"

He smirked faintly, bowing his head in agreement. "More than a few. I've, ah, been distracted, I guess."

[ooc: feel free to give him a hard time of it! the boy's so secretive, no one but jake really knows anything, and it drives me crazy. having to account for his disinterest is okay by me.]

"Distracted?" Jenny shook her head. "Not good enough, Alex." She leaned back against her desk and looked at Alex consideringly, waiting for an explanation.

OOC: Oh, thank goodness! I hate giving people a hard time without an OK, but Jenny should give him a hard time! So thank you!

Annoyance flashed in his eyes and he looked away. "School hasn't been a priority for me," Krycek said, which wasn't exactly a lie. Breathing in slowly, he shrugged. "But I hate to leave a job half-finished. I reassessed my goals and I'd like to make it right."

[ooc: sorry for putting you in that position!]

"Ooh, motivation-speak!" exclaimed Jenny. "Are you going to be a business major in college?" She grinned briefly, before getting serious. "Look, Alex, here's the deal. You've been skipping out on classes, and apparently you don't have a very good reason for it. So I'm going to need a 100 word essay ~~that you can totally handwave, of course~~ for Psych and another one for Magical Theory. I'll let you pick the subjects. Does that sound like something you can handle?"

OOC: No apologies are necessary! :) I get to have fun interaction either way--I, uh, just have more fun letting Jenny give you a hard time. I'm a wee bit sadistic about that.

"Yes ma'am." He smiled, meeting her eyes. "I appreciate your leniency. And I want you to know I do enjoy your classes."

Jenny didn't snort. But she knew a kiss-up when she saw one. "You'll enjoy them a whole lot more if you start showing up more regularly, Alex," she said, nodding at him. "When can I expect to see those essays?"

OOC: Ooooh, yes, but so fun! *giggles maniacally and taunts kinda-psycho boy some more*

He smirked and nodded back. "By Thursday? I think I can get them done by then."

[ooc: gah, sorry, my internet went out for a while. finish tomorrow?]

"Thursday would be just fine," said Jenny. "Great!"

OOC: No problem, it was getting late for me and I had to crash anyway. :)

Krycek nodded again. "Thanks again, ma'am. I'll see you later today." And he took himself out, a little bit satisfied at how easily that went.
