Let's Get Creative!, Monday, Period Three

Congratulations, class! Your teacher was not a tooka! Which had been a real possibility up until the weekend.

"Hi, new kids!" Did Aphra care if you were new or not? No, no she didn't. "I'm Doctor Aphra, and this is a class about unlocking your inner creativity, for fun and possibly profit." Theirs, hers, who'd know for sure, a rising tide and all that.

"It's time for us to get creative, so introduce yourselves, creatively!"

No, you couldn't transfer out.

Illyana had her head down on her desk and a large thermos of coffee with her. She was going to murder Strange for signing her up for a Monday class.

Was Aphra being vague because she wanted to see how you interpreted 'creatively'? Yes.

Was she being vague because she'd spent more time over the past few days brushing her teeth than preparing class? Also, yes.

Miles thought about it for a moment before taking off his shoes and then flipping up to the ceiling where he hung upside down.

"Hi. I'm Miles Morales and I'm from Brooklyn. I do a lot of painting, mostly street art but I like sketching as well."

"Great, we can work with that."

She wasn't going to specify what that she meant.

Well, Tahani couldn't stick to the ceiling, Miles, so instead she did a little sketch of herself (which was extremely good, but not as good as what her sister Kamilah could do, naturally). "I'm Tahani al-Jamil," she made the sketch say as she hid behind it.

"Aw, if I'd know you'd be here again, I'd have prepared a trap for old times sake." Because Aphra was the worst.

When it was her turn, Illyana groaned, and snapped her fingers.

In a bright flash of light, she vanished from her desk and was at the front of the classroom, floating in the air in a lotus-sit above the teacher's desk. "Illyana Rasputin. Would rather be asleep."

Another snap, and she was back at her desk reaching for her coffee. "Next."

"Huh, interesting."

Aphra, no. Whatever you were thinking, no.

While the others were talking, Sabine pulled out her notebook and sketched her name in big, graffiti-style writing. It wasn't very detailed, but it was what she could do in the time she had.

Tah dah. Introduced.

"I like your style, kid. Let's explore it." Was Aphra considering what a series of 'previously undiscovered Wrens' might bring in the future,? Of course not, that would require too much forward planning.

"There once was a girl from Connecticut,
Who didn't get this school or its etiquette,
She wrote something down,
- hope it wasn't a letdown -
Her name was Lydia, and she felt like an idiot."

It didn't rhyme perfectly, but that was pretty good for a limmerick scribbled down on the fly.

"Eh, it could use some work."
