Zoe probably had far more food than was necessary for this meeting, but a little extra pizza never hurt anyone. There was also soda, water in case anyone preferred being healthy, and cookies because why not?
"Thank you all for volunteering to help with the Student Council this year," she said once the girls had gotten settled. "I want to make sure we have a chat about Homecoming before it sneaks up on us after fall break, and talk about anything else you might want to do this year."
Ideas about going to the moon might not get shot down immediately, at least?

"Then we add campy vampires, crazy werewolves, and absolute mounds of black and orange glitter???????? Like, I can even make the walls sequins??????????"

Nina paused, glancing at the Principal. "For, like, future reference, do all parties have to be held in the gym?????????"
She, ah, didn't wait for an answer.
"Like, we can do the festival but with a new twist on it?????? Make everything daaaaaaaaaaaark and spoooooky and ohmygosh we could do, like, guillotine photoshoots in addition to kissing and pies??????????? Also, like, we could make all the pies cherry or use food colouring to make the whipped cream on the pies red as blood..........."

“It shouldn’t be too bad,” she ventured after a moment. “Like, we can repurpose most of the party things from previous years and I can handle the purely cosmetic parts of altering them????????? There’s still going to be like hanging banners and tossing glitter and setting up the tables though??????”

You should all be a little bit frightened as she pulled out her phone to read off of.
"Like, I don't think we've got enough people to support the clubs and reserves that the school used to have, which is like, tragic, but I was thinking of maybe running student-led workshops-----maybe one or two a month?????-----on various topics??????? Just to, like, get people hanging out with one another, you know?????? Like we could do an art night or if someone's into a sport we could take over the gym and play a game one night?????? That sort of thing?????? Then, obviously, given the island, we could do things like basic self-defense and basic first aid and stuff like that??????????? There's also the salle and the gun range and I was thinking that, like, there's got to be people who know what they're doing who practice there and maybe they'd be willing to host informal training/information sessions for anyone else who might show up or want to learn....... And there's the fact that I'm going to throw at least one party on the moon so, like, I have to think of other places-----maybe under the sea would be a good one too, to really shake things up a bit??????"
She paused there, expectantly, looking about for a response.
