Chopped: Overstock Edition ; Tuesday, Second Period [07//28].
"Welcome back again to another exciting week of seeing just how terrible half of you are at cooking!" Summer started the class cheerfully. "By now, you know the drill, so we're just going to get right to it, and I'll just mention two things before we get to the exciting reveal of what you guys will have to cook with this week. The first is that I promise this time there is no tea. And the second?"
There was a dramatic pause.
"I've removed all the blenders from the kitchen this time around, because seriously, you guys? Smoothies? I expect better from you all. That said, let's begin!"

Cook! - Chopped, 07/28.
Strawberries
Chocolate Milk
Carrots
"No theme, no smoothies, and, obviously, you have full range of what's in the pantry and the kitchen, with the exception of blenders because y'all had to go and ruin that last week. On your marks, get set...cook!"

As if just squinting into the basket might not only spark some ideas, but would also cause the ingredients to get right on up out of that basket themselves and put themselves together in an acceptable way.

If she couldn't make a smoothie, she would go for the next best cop-out: a soggy Napoleon because the pastry never cooks in time, plus an carrot ice cream that literally no one asked for.
Over-churned, of course. So...strawberry-not-chocolatey enough Napoleons with carrot butter. Mmmmm.

It was a little sad, how no one had made a jello yet.

She huffed a little frustrated sigh before then just looking thoughtfully at Seivarden for a moment.
"Come on, then," she said, picking up the bowl and gesturing for Seivarden to follow her back to her cooking station. "Since it took you all of two seconds to throw that together and we still have a full class period ahead of us, let's save this miserable dessert and make some jello."

"It's second period and this is a classroom," Summer reminded her, "and I don't trust someone who wlmixes strawberries and carrots and milk in a bowl and calls that dessert," or just Seivarden in general, considering her drinking habits, "to not mess up the ratios to keep in mind when you add alcohol. We start simple. First, you're going to want to start by getting two cups of water boiling."

"I bet you anything," said Summer, "that I could get more people to eat your so-called dessert if it was encased in jello than I would as you presented it. That's why presentation is important. Speaking of presentation, while the water boils, go into the pantry and grab four packets of gelatin and pick out which mold you want to use for it, too."
Re: Present your Dish! - Chopped, 07/28.
"Who actually uses a brain-shaped mold?"
She had decided against that one, yes.
Re: Present your Dish! - Chopped, 07/28.
Was the fact that she had all those reasons in her pocket without even needing to think about them somewhat worrisome?
"Anyway, go ahead and stray the mold with some non-stick spray so the jello doesn't stick to it, and then get a large bowl filled with ice water before we start dissolving the gelatin, this is going to just make things easier in a few minutes."
Re: Present your Dish! - Chopped, 07/28.
"So this is what you do every week?"
Re: Present your Dish! - Chopped, 07/28.
"Okay," she then offered, "if your water's boiling, go ahead and pour it into the smaller bowl, and then add the packets of gelatin. Once they've dissolved, you want to add two cups of cold water, and then you're going to put that smaller bowl in the bowl with the ice water, and then start stirring it. That's going to get it to thicken up, and since we're adding shit to it, we want to get it to a nice thickness so it can actually hold all the carrots and strawberries."
Talk to Summer - Chopped, 07/28.
Chocolate and strawberries is very promising, and if this gets messed up, it's hopeless.
