Summer had sent out the word to have the class actually meet in the park this week, because she had an idea for a theme that fit very nicely (she thought) with all the new visitors on the island, and she wanted to take advantage of it.

"This week," she grinned at the class once it seemed everyone who was coming was there and ready to cook, "I figured we'd take advantage of having nice weather and some visitors to the island to have a nice grill and potluck theme for the class today. That means I'm not only going to be tasting your dishes and judging them, but I'm going to be inviting literally anyone passing by to come join us and have a taste for themselves, too! Because summer is all about cookouts and potlucks anyway, right? So, of course, you have your basket of three ingredients which we will reveal shortly, but there's two added elements this week: you must make use of the grills here in the park in some fashion and you have to make enough to share with anyone brave enough to come join us. If there's any questions, ask them now or forever hold your peace...or is it piece? I've never really been sure. Anyway, if there aren't questions we'll just get right to it, have you open your boxes, and let you get to work!"

[[ ocd is up, and since it's in the park, I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who might be around to come by and try some free food or something, idk, i just thought of this this morning! ]]

Enjoy the sun, the constant annoying music, and a chance to be outdoors when it's not insanely hot outside and you're slowly losing all your clothes! Ask questions if you got 'em, or just be distracted by what you could be shaking out of trees right now.

Seivarden had a bad feeling about this even before Summer announced the ingredients.

"Aatr's tits."

At least she wouldn't have to make finger food.

"The time has come to open your baskets!" Summer announced, in a very authoritative announcer voice to build up the dramatic tension which wasn't quite working with these musical cues like they would have with the music they might have otherwise had on the show. "In today's dish, you must include:

Bananas
Curly Italian Parsley
Bottled Sweetened Green Iced Tea

"There are a few coolers with other ~~moddable~~ ingredients...and pots and pans and tools and whatever... at your disposal...not to mention all this fruit in these trees...to enhance your dishes, but they must include these three ingredients, as well as use of the grill. It is a potluck, so keep the fact that it should be able to serve multiple people in mind and there will definitely be points awarded for creativity, blah blah blah."

She paused and held it for effect before taking in a deep breath.

"You may begin!"

She kinda maybe loved the whole dramatic TV host bit a little too much...

Seivarden didn't trust the fruit in the trees, and the ingredients... Sweetened green iced tea, what were you thinking, Summer?

The only thing Seivarden could think of was dessert. With parsley. So she chopped the parsley and mixed it with the tea and enough flour to turn it into a lumpy dough, without messing up her gloves too much. She put it on the grill, flattened it a bit, then added the bananas whole, still unpeeled.

Nell sliced and grilled the bananas, then sprinkled them with a little bit of cinnamon. She reduced the sweetened green tea iced tea into a sauce to drizzle lightly over the bananas with a bit on the side for dipping. She had a little difficulty with the parsley at first, but finally she decided to chop it up and use it sparingly both in the green tea reduction and as a decorative touch in her presentation.

"And time...." PAAAAUSE for effect as Summer eyed her watch, "is up! Come present your dishes and explain what you've prepared, and then we'll see what everyone thinks!"

Once the students present their dishes, please feel free to give it a try and react as a guest as well!

"Did you pick the iced tea just to annoy me?" Seivarden asked Summer when her dish was finished.

"Anyway, this is supposed to be a dessert." It looked like a grilled lump with bananas.

"I have grilled bananas with cinnamon and a little sweetened green tea and parsley dipping sauce." It wasn't anything Nell would have chosen to make on her own, but it actually was rather tasty.

Considering she did a whole session specifically on horrible banana food, the bar for expectations is pretty high, you guys!

I don't know why someone would ever need as much parsley as this order contained, but it was seriously a lot of parsley. Sooooo much, you don't even know...
