Weirdly, not skin hygiene related!

Everyone had to enter the cellar of the Mustpeade Maja and participate in a ceremony of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads Guild. The building was in downtown Tallinn, so you could stop to purchase new clothing or just press on with what you had on from Fandom. Team members had to pick up a candelabra with a room number attached to it from a table of revelers. When you find the room, you are given what appeared to be a blank scroll and you have to figure out that the next clue was written in invisible ink and could be revealed by holding the scroll over the light of the candle. The clue reads "Pikk Hermann Tower Gardens", which was is the next destination.

Rosa would like to insist, if anyone had asked, that the only reason she didn't completely crush this was because she did stop to buy some clothes.

And then had to find somewhere to burn the Gladiators singlet that was pretty much all she had left that was even remotely appropriate to wear in public.

Mae did eventually figure out that the clue was in invisible ink. She lost some time with the revelers, though, since she hadn't changed her clothes in a week.

No one wanted to get anywhere near Mae, okay?

Somehow or another, Eleanor had managed to find a very large t-shirt that covered everything. The downside of that is she was running around Estonia looking like a Vsco girl.

Hey, at least she didn't have a waterbottle with stickers all over it.

And while the ceremony of Blackheads was NOT the facial she was expecting, she got held up with the stupid secret message and figuring out what to do. So basically she cheated and tried to see what other groups were doing and figured it out that way.

Alara ended up being distracted by the idea of buying buying new clothes than she thought, so it took her a lot longer than she would have liked to have completed the task.

Nell managed to buy another skirt and tunic top, though she had to try to explain that no she didn't want anything cooler as it would expose more skin. She'd just be warm, thank you very much. And then, well, who would have thought to heat up the paper? Not her.

In Serve, you participate in a game of volleyball in the thigh-high (on an adult human) mud of the Keava bog, where they had to score a total of five points against a local team in order to receive their next clue. In Sling, you had to put on bog shoes and walk out onto a bog, where you then use slingshots to fire assorted vegetables at a target, which when hit would collapse a table full of cabbages along with their next clue.

Mae loved slingshots!

Mae was very bad at slingshots.

See? No clothes shopping, no problem.

Of course Rosa was going for Sling, although volleyball in mud was tempting. But come on. Weapons? Range weapons? HITTING THINGS?

Those cabbages didn't stand a chance.

Eleanor had quite enough mud from shennanigans, thank you. She went for the sling and actually did pretty well.

Not that she had any experience slingshotting vegetables at targets.

Nope. Not at all.

Alara opted to tackle the Sling option, she managed to recover some of the time she had lost but it still took her a while to hit the targets to get the next clue she needed.

One Nell had figured out how to use the bog shoes - and had found a way to keep her skirts semi-clean - she had no trouble using the slingshot to complete the task.

To get to Anakin, you had to take a Saunabusse--a sauna on wheels, full of mostly naked Estonians who are surprisingly cool with your bog-mud covered selves. But only a few of you can get onto the bus at a time, and it runs sporadically.

After you get off the bus, it's still a pretty good haul up to the tower where Anakin was waiting.

Mae managed to make up loads of time with the Saunabusse. Possibly because once she got on, everyone on there wanted her off as soon as possible.

Bog mud was fine. A week's build-up of crusty teenager who'd attempted a tough mudder? Not so much.

Eleanor thought she had a good lead.... but quickly lost out when she get into an altercation with an Estonian on the street who was trying to Eleanor to sign a petition on saving some sort of endangered creature. Ugh.

When she got off the bus she was sweaty dirty and her Vsco uniform was looking pretty heinous.

Clearly this was revenge for ditching class and never coming back last fall.

And, again, Rosa would insist, if anyone had asked, that she'd have crushed this one, too, if she hadn't just missed that first bus.

You better believe she made up for lost time with that haul up to the tower. Good luck anyone who got in her way.

...seriously, who let this woman into a competition class?

It took Alara a bit longer to navigate the bus but she more than made up enough time to get to the tower. She was a bit surprised when she got there and no one else seemed to have made it yet, considering how much time she lost with the first task.

It took a VERY long time to get on the bus thing. There were naked people!!! For a while it seemed entirely possible that Nell would simply stay where she was and never make it back to Fandom at all.

But finally after everyone else had gone, she gathered up her courage, closed her eyes and stood clinging to the doorway facing out until they got to where they were going.

She was still pretty shaken by the time she arrived at the tower, way past dead last. Hopefully she hadn't missed the portal home.
