When the class arrived for Try Not to Die, Anakin was nowhere to be seen, but his daughter Juliet was there. "Hi!" she said, grinning. "I'm Juliet Skywalker and I'm suuuuuper not supposed to go through portals unsupervised, but Dad's disappeared for a second, so we're just not going to tell him, okay?"

That seemed safe, right?

"We're going to the Sea-shells today," she said, squinting at the map outside the Portalocity office. "That sounds fun! Everyone follow me!"

And she jumped through the portal.

In Turtle Toddle, you use a banana to lure a 500-pound (230 kg), 100-year-old Aldabra giant tortoise across a marked path on a lawn. Once the turtle crossed the finish line, you have to deliver a bunch of bananas to a fruit merchant 1.5 miles (2.4 km) away at La Digue Marina to receive the next clue. In Ox Trot, you pull a cart to a clearing to load a pile of coconuts. After an ox was hitched to the cart, you have to deliver the coconuts to the same fruit merchant at La Digue Marina to receive their clue. If you forget or lose any of the coconuts, you have to retrieve them to complete the task.

Perhaps being dressed as a pirate was the secret to doing reasonably well in this class? Either way, Duke was killing it in the luring the turtle department. And made excellent time delivering those bananas.

So, yeah. Let's blame the pirate outfit.

Brushing the hair off her face, Astrid settled in with focus and seriousness to lead this turtle and deliver those bananas. Her resolute approach was paying off, it seemed, even if it was falling just a little short.

Alexis was having a bad day. She was definitely hungover, Tahani had put her hands on her stuff, and all this was gonna be slow. Just... all of it.

Getting the cart to the clearing and loading it up wasn't a problem, but apparently Grog got some kind of super ox that took off waaay faster than he expected. He managed to keep all the coconuts in place though!

Tisarwat had spent maybe a little too long trying to devided between the tortoise and the oxen, and, once she decided, was having a hard time being patient with the large tortoise, plastering on a smile and trying to sound encouraging though she wanted to kind of yell at it and start pushing...

...but they were making some progress, at least.

So Alara had somehow ended up in a rather fancy dress and she wasn’t used to being so dressed up.

It was taking her a while to get the cart where she needed it to go so she could complete the task.

Nell was a little small to handle the cart easily by herself, so it took a long time. However, driving the cart with the oxen wasn't too bad.

You have to dive into the water to retrieve on of twelve bottles submerged in the ocean on a platform. After you bring it back to shore, you have to assemble the puzzle inside to figure out where you are meeting Anakin.

Maybe Anakin. Maybe Juliet. Maybe a baby shark. Today was weird.

Duke was a great swimmer!

He'd just . . . somehow gotten lost on his way over to the next challenge. And the woman he'd asked for help wasn't able to make heads or tails of his map, either.

This might take awhile.

Bottles. Of course there would be bottles, and Astrid stood there for a long moment, looking down into the water and thinking some vague, unrefined memory about her mother and bottles, Claire and bottles, even Barry Kolker and his bottles...

Needless to say, it took her a moment to break out of her fugue of sadness and remember that she was supposed to be doing something...

Alexis apparently like, fucked off to go to a bar again or something and was late to doing the challenge? Anyway, she was not winning this class.

Water was not Grog's favorite thing.

Puzzles definitely were not Grog's favorite thing, but he managed to get the picture together in the end.

Tisarwat surprised herself with this one, not only because she didn't think she'd be much good at a swimming challenge, but also in that she was able to beat most of these grown ups, too! Apparently, being a kid was really a benefit in this one! And she couldn't help feeling a little smug, even if it was just second place.

Alara didn’t have much trouble with swimming but randomly changing into a boy threw her off and between that and completing the puzzle, it took her a lot longer to get the clue she needed.

Nell actually didn't know how to swim, but the little girl suddenly standing in her place was so sweet that one of the people there dived in and got one for her.

Once you've discovered that you're heading to the Paradise Sun Hotel, make your way up the beach without being distracted by the breathtaking scenery or a beach-side bar.

Anakin was waiting to judge you for following his ten-year-old daughter through a portal.

Duke would totally get there eventually.

Right now, he and the woman who'd tried to help him with the map were busy making out.

Alexis got there dead last and looked pretty satisfied about it.

Grog was pretty satisfied with not being dead last, although he was really confused about where the little girl had gone. This place was so weird sometimes.

Where did Astrid get a surfboard?

(Maybe from Danny?)

Did she know how to surf?

(No.)

But, apparently, it had helped her get to the hotel ahead of everyone, trudging up to meet Mr. Skywalker with the sunset bload still tucked under her arm, her hair wind blown and smelling of the salty sea.

How Alara was able to get to the hotel in a reasonable amount of time, she wasn’t sure but it was enough that she had promptly laid down on the floor and was quite content to stay there.

Nell was totally distracted by the scenery. It was just so beautiful!

Mwahahaha. I love this event.
