Ungulate Yoga, Tuesday, period 1
Duke was feeling much better after getting a good night's sleep. And doing some meditation that morning with the incense he'd gotten on the mainland helped, too. It'd helped so much, in fact, that when he got to his yoga class that morning and discovered the large above water pool that had been set up, he could only laugh.
"Porpoises," he said, when one of the pair of animals in the water swam up to greet him. "You don't even have feet," he told it, patting its little rounded face. "How the hell are you an ungulate?"
The porpoise spat a stream of water at him, and he laughed again.
When the students arrived, they were offered a set of pool noodles. "Hope no one minds getting wet," Duke called from where he was perched on the far edge of the pool. "Or is afraid of small whales. Today we're doing some aqua yoga. And, uh, careful around our new friends, here. They're not really meant to be kept in captivity. Hopefully they'll be released right after class, and have an exciting story to tell all their porpoise friends."

Listen to the lecture
Re: Listen to the lecture
Needless to say, though, the water wouldn't bother her, but she was feeling glad that she hadn't even bothered with her coat and hat today, and was already ready for anything in her t-shirt from last week's shenanigans and the pair of shorts she'd bought to go along with it, since her orange pantaloons didn't exactly seem to go with it very well. Her hair was even tied back a little, proving that she did, in fact, actually have a second eye hidden underneath all that, despite the fact that wearing her hair like that reminded her a bit too uncomfortably of dance lessons before she took her path to being a dragon knight.
Re: Listen to the lecture
And that paranoid little thought made her realize that if something was on the way to go down, then she should probably actually talk to Crocker about it, but....ugh.
(How convenient, then, that Williams would go do the dirty work and talk to Crocker first, and then she could just eavesdrop...what? Talking to people sucked, and if other people who sucked were more than willing to do it instead...)
Re: Listen to the lecture
Cait wasn't going anywhere near the water.
"Ah wullnae dae it!"
Re: Listen to the lecture
Re: Listen to the lecture
Now she had to redo her hair.

Re: Listen to the lecture
She certainly didn't mind the water--Elli was a strong swimmer--but she privately agreed with Alexis.
Warning would have been nice!
Re: Listen to the lecture
Nobody had mentioned swimming. Or whatever it was that yoga in the water counted as.
Re: Listen to the lecture
Aqua yoga and porpoises!
Re: Aqua yoga and porpoises!
Yes, yes he was.
Re: Aqua yoga and porpoises!
That was not a sanctioned yoga move.

"Detective," Danny replied peevishly. "Let me see your goddamn pupils."
Re: Talk to Duke
He was genuinely confused. He was just very relaxed! He’d had a very hard week, okay?
Re: Talk to Duke
He did concern in a very surly fashion.
Re: Talk to Duke
Well. He’d gotten a (pretty flimsy) lead on her, anyway.
Re: Talk to Duke
"You found her? Oh, and you didn't think to tell anyone else?" Danny asked. "Where was she?"
Also, why wasn't she here right now, threatening him for getting all up in Duke's grill?

Re: Talk to Duke
He was also a little bit stoned. That incense Jim had given him was something else.
"You know what, buddy? You are. . . ." He trailed off, his paranoia and dislike of cops generally battling with his shiny happy mood. ". . . A decent cop. Thank you."

This was going to go terribly.
