Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2020, Early Saturday Evening [Part 1]
There were normal traditions, and there were Fandom traditions, and having this party get started right around dusk was definitely a Fandom tradition. As the sun went down, the finishing touches of decorations were made; the lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, and there were chairs set up for all of the graduates, along with plenty of seats for guests to come and watch. The weather was behaving itself, and it looked like it would be a nice, warm spring evening.
Congratulations, Class of 2020! You made it!
[OCD is up, have at it!]

Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Sure, he hadn't said much about it to her but, like, puh-lease. She knew.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
And also sort of what you got when you'd been retainer to Noctis since you were six.
"I can hardly blame him for that, either," Ignis noted. "He's shown a great deal of fortitude in sticking it out for the long run, though it seems the last six months have been quite a bit...less traumatic than the summer had been. Still..." He paused a little thoughtfully. "It has not been without its merits. We're glad to have him back."
He adjusted his glasses along with shifting his glance more directly toward her. "And I'm sure I can trust in you to share any other...particularly noteworthy revelations, should they still come up."
The nuances of exactly how this island's views into various alternate dimensions was something that still kept him delightfully puzzled, though he was determined to ascertain at least their usefulness.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Well, assuming the moose didn't reject her class idea.
But it had been more than a week since she'd submitted it and she hadn't heard from them yet... so...
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
"That wasn't exactly what I meant, Nina," Ignis said, though he knew that she already knew that.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Honestly, it was a crying shame he wasn't still in high school himself.
"But, like, yes I'll make sure to let you guys know when the island tries to murder me," she said, since... well, it was likely to happen.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
She hadn't!
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Confusion fluttered across Ignis's face for a moment, before it was replaced with a look that would convey that she wasn't the only one who knew things.
Besides...
"There were pictures," he said. "Among other things, not to mention that I might have a particularly vested interest in anything the island might present that involves a future where Noctis...and Insomnia...and Eos as a whole does not meet some dire fate."
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
She was, uh, glad Owen wasn't here for this though.
Though she was maybe going to murder her brother.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
"If you have a chance," he ventured, "to put together a sort of dossier of the details you remember from your interactions with them for me, it would be appreciated. Just as it's important to seek out the patterns in the futures where things go badly, perhaps finding patterns in the futures where they turn out well can be helpful, too."
While he tried to figure out the morality of possibly trying to sway events that way.
Ignis Scientia: a most practical shipper.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
"You...... do........ realize that I have a boyfriend that is not Noctis, right????????????????"
Just checking!
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
Ignis pushed his glasses up his nose a little, tugged slightly on his glove.
"Of course I do," he said. "But data is data, Nina, and might still be useful. Obviously, these glimpses into the future are incredibly unlikely to occur as they're presented. It would be impossible, considering the sheer amount of different possibilities, but if we can use what knowledge we have in any way we can to not only save Noctis, but quite possibly all of Eos as a whole, then we would be terribly remiss to turn our backs on that knowledge."
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
"I mean, like, sure," she said, "I follow all of that for data collection purposes and, like, I guess I am a citizen of Lucis and so it could be considered my patriotic duty to fall in love with Noctis and get married and somewhere in there save the world..............."
Look, Nina didn't like to admit that she was good at logic herself, but she was.
"Like, I've read that book, Ignis??????????? And you can't force a happy ending. You could force a marriage, but happy endings are different things entirely."
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
And there, his eyes shifted to her pointedly little miss Let's Go Get Adopted by Insomnia Spies.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
No, really. The worst.
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
"So then you should understand," Ignis said, "how I feel, Nina."
Re: Welcome! [Grad 2020]
A slightly maliciously. Look, she liked Ignis, but she was also not super willing to be the only sacrificial pawn in this game.
"I'll have the dossiers to you by morning," she said, which was easy since she already had them written for her own use. Nina would just have to go through and remove her running commentary on some matters. "I look forward to hearing how you like your fate in that universe............"
Prompto was going to kill her. It'd be great.
