Advanced Bird Haberdashery, Wednesday, period 2
There was no worry about a lack of birds in class this week; there were easily half a dozen. Which was kind of a problem, because they were not small. Especially when they had their tail feathers raised.
"Right, so. Peacocks," Duke said, peering out around the feathers of the bird presenting on his desk. "I'm guessing the challenge here will be to compliment instead of conflict with them when we make them. . . ." He let out a long sigh. "propeller beanies." He shook his head, looking faintly pained. (And not just because he was still nursing a post-AU-kids hangover.) "Right. At least I'm not the bird this week. Have fun.
"Oh, and next week is our last class. Which according to a note left on the door when I came in, is 'BYOBird'. So . . . I guess try to do that. Because that definitely won't end in tears."
