"So I heard that Tisarwat introduced an important topic last week. I hope the exercise wasn't too complicated for you."

 

Here she smiled at the TA if she's here.

 

"Today you're going to get an example of how it can be done. We're going to watch a movie."

 

She smiled.

 

"An historical drama. The details might be a bit exaggerated and slightly out of date, but most of it is still accurate."

 

It was also the most boring entertainment Seivarden had ever watched. That's what you get for insulting the teacher behind her back.

It's dreadfully boring, especially if you have not previous knowledge of Radchaai history and politics. There are plenty of subtle insults though, but apart from that the only possibly interesting thing is that the Lord of the Radch keeps cloning herself and living in many bodies for thousands of years. But that's just normal.

Aatr's tits, not only was this incredibly boring, but Tisarwat had it on very good authority that they'd gotten quite a few of the finer details about the subject matter completely wrong, which made watching this particular entertainment not only incredibly annoying, but also...well....super awkward.

The only saving grace was that literally no one besides herself would know how incredibly personal this all was for her, though it did make her feel a little more interested in what her classmates might think about any of it...

...but she was pretty sure they'd all be too bored out of their minds to process it.

This fit perfectly with what Mae figured Seivarden's culture must be like. She slumped her chin onto her hands -- which were covered in perfectly normal, nicely fitted gloves, that covered her whole hand and everything.

Was she tired of teasing? Acknowledging that gloves had a purpose? Trying to fuck with Seivarden by doing the unexpected? She wasn't telling.

Seivarden glanced at Mae, trying not to look too suspicious. To be fair, she actually hoped that Mae had finally given up but she didn't count on it.

"I see you have found something that's actually acceptable to wear on your hands."

And, if it weren't for last week's class being what it was, she probably would have been very convincing with it, too.
