"Sooooooo," said Summer, smiling sweetly at the class once they were gathered in the Danger Shop, where they were all in a wide, dusty street in what looked like an quiet little old West town...but in space! "I was thinking of maybe doing something really dumb and easy for today's class, but then I remember next week is the break, so you guys are getting off plenty easy then, so we're gonna do this instead. Don't worry, some of you are going to love this. Some of you will probably hate it, too, which is actually the healthier response, so good for you.

"Anyway," she continued, "welcome to the planet...errr, well, actually, I don't even know what this planet's called, I actually wasn't here for this, but I still wound up saving the day by sending him a package or whatever, which do you think I got any credit for? No, I just got reamed out by blowing a hole in the garage roof, but whatever. Anyway, this place is, like, super peaceful and friendly 24/7...except for, like, this one night, the night of the 'FESTIVAL,'" that was put in heavy obvious finger quotes and a sardonic tone, "where they basically purge out all their bad feelings and go on a no-holds crime and killing and murder spree from sundown until sun-up. You know, it's kind of like that really sucky series of movies. That really suck.

"So in about five minutes, when I finish this preamble and give you a little head start, the sun's going to set and the native people of this planet are going to come crawling out start purging each other...and you guys. So your goal is to survive the night...or, well, the duration of the class, anyway....do you fight back to protect yourself? Do you find somewhere to hide to just wait it out? Try to reason with these guys who have totally been waiting literally a year just to have a little bit of release? Like seriously, these guys are freakin' ready to purge it uuuuuup."

Summer turned to her watch. "Alright, guys, just a few minutes until sundown. Ask questions if you've got them, then get ready. We're in for a really stupid night-slash-class period."

Start looking around, get a feel for the area, ask questions if you've got them, make appeals to abstain...because you've just got a few minutes before a bunch of cat-people are going to come out of the woodworks to try and kill you and each other.

The sun has set and the native people of this planet have emerged with axes, swords, machetes, scythes, rifles, wooden chair legs, you name it, all in the name of getting a year's worth of pent up rage and violence and anger out in a small window of time.

What do?

Just get in the spirit of the Festival and meet the problem head-on with some good old senseless violence! It's totally acceptable because it's self-defense!

There are plenty of buildings around to hide out in, look for weapons, try to make a plan in, whatever, though there may be other trying to do the same thing that might not be so keen on sharing their safe spaces.

Buildings in the town are completely moddable, as well as what you might find there!

Yeaaaaaah. Prompto was definitely on the side of 'not killing people unless you kind of have to' side of things. And while one could easily make the argument that people trying to kill you meant that you might have to kill them, he was going to try to avoid that if he could. After all, it was just for the class period, right? He just had to find a good place to hide and chill and wait it all out, slipping toward the buildings and into what appeared to be a general store, checking the area to see if it was clear before maybe hiding behind the counter or something.

Oooh, and maybe if he just grabbed some snacks on the way...

Argueably one of the safest places nearby, there's a lighthouse like a beacon on a cliff that could be an excellent strategic stronghold...or it could be a trap. Only one way to find out!

If you can make it through the villagers trying to massacre everyone, there are ships not too far off that you might be able to get to, to either escape the madness for good, or just get yourself a front row seat to it.

Sorry, no popcorn, though, you weirdo.

Also of note is a giant beautiful mansion up on a hill overlooking the town. There's certainly nothing odd or fishy or suspicious about that, right? Just a totally normal castle-mansion hanging out over this clearly poor and rustic town.

You know what the worst thing about a Purge is?

The fact that they made more of those dumb movies.
