"We're going on a trip soon," Seivarden began.

Yes, we. You were going to get a proper, civilized chaperone, students, unless she got too distracted.

"So I thought a movie would be a good way to practice judging civilized and uncivilized behavior. We'll discuss your conclusions afterwards."

She did know that it was historical, but wasn't aware how out of date it was. At least there were no explosions that could distract some students.

Mae was back to her plastic baggies held on with rubber bands. Look, it was hard to come up with new ideas every week when her budget was "stolen or free". These were at least a) demonstrably not gloves and b) see-through. Which made them winners in her book.

"Maaaaaaaaaaaeeeeeeeee," Nina whispered, since 'Mae' was a hard name to hiss, as she slid two pencil holders over to her friend.

Gloves!

Or, well, not gloves.

But you could stick a hand in them and pretend. It wasn't like a movie class needed dexterity or anything.

Mae blinked at them uncomprehendingly for a moment.

Then she grinned and shoved her hands into them.

"Thanks!"

"They're perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Double layers!" Mae's 'whisper' was not very quiet, no. "That makes me extra civilized!'

"Much more civilized than the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Nina agreed, sinking into her chair, though that wasn't going to stop the fact that her giggles and her whisper alike were becoming less quiet. "Psh, just one set at a time????????????? Clearly that's not good enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

A beat.

"How do you feel, like, about body paint???????????" Nina suggested, and this was a bit quieter, as she leaned over conspiratorially. "Like, painting gloves on????????????"

"I could definitely be into that," Mae said. ". . . How early would I have to get up to do that before class?"

"I mean, like, there's a lot of options for weeks in there now that I really think about it," she said, pondering that a bit more deeply. "Like, you could just paint your nails one week and wear, like, a bracelet with a zipper on it or a button on it and claim that those are your gloves????????????? You could paint your hands exactly like they usually are—or not paint them at all and claim they're painted—and say those are your gloves????????? Or you could paint them wild colours……..."

"We could do, like, special effects make up and glue a zipper to my hand!" Mae was totally going to end up gluing random things to her hands now. Hopefully not with superglue.
