The tavern was there once more, but the difference lay in the fact that an old school movie projector was set up in the back. Which seemed normal.

"Movie daaaay!" Magnus said. "That's what you wanted, right?"

"Magnus picked the movie," Cara, who was refusing to acknowledge this latest round island's bullshit, said. "Something about valuable life lessons."

"Also, cartoons interacting with the real world," Magnus added. "Like a Paula Abdul video."

"I'm going to pretend that made sense." Look, even now there were still significant gaps in her pop culture knowledge.

Magnus was getting her there. With his very particular set of pop culture references. "We can watch it later," he promised.

That hadn't been what Cara had intended. "Fine."

Magnus replied with a quiet little, "Yaaaay," as he started the movie.

It was a classic no matter what Martin Scorsese says!

After four days of waking up and seeing a face far too similar to Master Satele's for comfort in the mirror, Theron was done with all this.

If Wayne didn't know any better, he'd almost start to think that his plaid was starting to go a bit more girly to match his shape the longer the week end on...

Well. He'd have plenty of time to think about it, as he went and got settled in for another movie, crossing his arms in front of him, adjusting those arms to compensate yet again, and only really paying half attention as he tried to think of what he could do after class to feel like he hadn't just wasted half his day sitting around, watching movies...

Shuri was having similar problems, but with her legs and...bits.

"Hello," she said in a muuuuch deeper voice than usual. "At least I'm better looking, still, than T'Challa?"

Wayne was feeling he could have used some of that deepness in the disconsolate grumble that served as his intitial response to....all of this.

"Can confirm," he said, once the growl worked its way out of his system, and he figured that was the safest response in such tumultuous and...awkward ground.

But he still couldn't help but add, "On account of you not looking like a cow."

Shuri snorted. "Thank you. You're cute like this, too."

Wayne grumbled again.

Cutely.

"Well," he said, with stout resolution, "don't get used to it. I'm sure everythimg'll be back to tip-top shape any day now..."

These sorts of things didn't last long all summer, after all, so why should this be any different? Just had to ride it out and ignore it as best he could in the meantime.

"There can't be anyone left to reshuffle at this point," Shuri agreed. "Think it got the birds and stuff too?"

The science, Wayne. The science.

That just got Wayne to shift his squint a little so that he was side-eyeing Shuri now instead of just steadfastly squinting forward at the movie and his head tilted back a little.

"Now how'd you suppose you'd go about tryin' to figgur ouwt something like that, anyhow?"

"Gloves and a good app on bird reproductive organs, probably," Shuri said, "and maybe someone who speaks to birds to find out who was different a few days ago."

She'd thought about this, Wayne. It's okay to be scared.

Wayne couldn't seem to avoid this kind of awkwardness about birds this week, apparently.

"We know anyone who can talk to birds?" he asked, since he wasn't too sure about that first part. After all, they'd've already switched, wouldn't they? It's just be a bunch of ruffling feathers.

"I think Keyleth can?" Shuri said. "She seems pretty fluent in squirrel on the radio, at least."

"Well, there ya go, then," said Wayne, with a nod. "Start with havin' Keyleth ask around a bit, if she could. Seems a bit more direct then just goin' around, ruffling feathers. An' more polite."

Shuri grinned. "I'm not normally much for biology," she admitted. "Give me things that don't talk back any day."

Who were kinda over this week.

No matter how many times this had happened, Cara was still not a fan. So she was going to scowl at you all.

I've had the theme from Space Jam just stuck in my head.
