Computer Science and Repair- Tuesday- 2nd period

Kitty had done this particular class before, and she'd fully intended to skip it this year in favor of some more 'repair' type classes later in the semester.

And then last week's class had happened and she figured maybe it was a good idea to get this one in there.

So today the Danger Shop was done up like a game show set, all bright colors and lights, and each student had a podium to stand by with their names written on them. Kitty herself had sets of index cards to read off of, just like all the classic hosts who didn't need to memorize lines.

"Goooood morning, class!" she said brightly. "Welcome to today's episode of Is It Ethical?"

As she said that, glitter shot out of the podiums, and an invisible TV audience said the title along with her.

"You're going to get a series of questions! Buzz in with your answer, and tell us-"

"Is it Ethical?" the audience yelled for her.

"The National Security Agency, which monitors and collects data and intelligence from everyday people around the country, including you," Kitty said. "You've found a loophole into their system. Do you use it? And what for?"

Round two

"You need your friend's help for something important, like life and death, but he's locked away in a maximum security prison for really terrible reasons. You have the ability to hack in and get him out. Do you do it?"

...Said the woman who'd broken into a maximum security prison to drop off art supplies.

Round three

"You know robbers are secretly diverting funds from a bank's systems to steal it. You have the ability to re-divert the funds somewhere to stop the bad guys from getting it. Do you do it? If so, what do you do with the money?"

Round four

"You have the ability to hack Fox News and put whatever else you want to on the air in its place. Do you do it? And what do you air?"

Spoiler: this could get you extra credit.

Okay, maybe a little bit bummed that today's class wasn't dealing with computers again this week? Sure. But also? This was kind of hilarious to Prompto and he was so here for it.

Was it Ethical to answer things wrong just for the glitter?

Maybe they'd find out!

Oh, see, Prompto knew how this went!

He slammed his buzzer and, with a winning smile, maybe even a finger gun thron in there, too, he said, "No."

But what he thought was very clearly yes, because of course you did and you went in there to see what they had on you and your friends and somehow magically make anything incriminating, especially anything involving security cameras you might not have noticed were there when you were dancing up a storm in what you thought was the privacy of a store or something, disappear.

Everything about this was confusing to Tisarwat, who had almost no frame of reference for what was going on at the moment, so she was just going to take a moment to focus on the one part that she could at least relate to, and that was boggling over just exactly what was the deal with this planet and glitter??

Tisarwat blinked her lilac eyes a little in confusion. But, having seen Prompto push the button before he spoke, she figured she was expected to do the same, and did so now, with uncertainty.

"What kind of loophole?" she asked. "Just to access the information? Or in a way that lets you alter the nature of the data or its systems?"

And what is the ethical thing to do in this situation, where you already had managed to find the mother of all loopholes and exploited the hell out of it?

Okay, like, Nina knew the answer she was supposed to give was a 'no'. It was pretty obvious.

But honestly...

"Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!" she said, a touch defiantly. "Because, like, if it's information about me, then I deserve to be able to access it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
