Fandom Gladiators Part DEUX! - First Period, Friday, 08/23.

"You know," said Rosa, addressing her students and fellow teachers once it was time to begin class, tilting her head thoughtfully, introspectively, "after a week like last week, sometimes, the best thing to do is just take some time, reflect, relax, maybe meditate a little and look into ourselves to find some sort of inner peace and tranquility..."

She let that hang for about two seconds.

"Ha. Just kidding. We're hitting each other with giant sticks. Let's go."

"You think anyone actually bought that first bit?" Miguel asked, grinning.

"God, I hope not," Rosa said with a snort. "Because that would mean someone in here's even stupider that I originally thought."

She looked him over with a faint grin that disappeared when she quirked up her chin. "Welcone back, by the way. You did good out there."

“Hey, I do my best.” Miguel grinned.

“So last week kind of sucked, huh?”

He was not going to mention specifics. He liked his head on his shoulders.

He could have not mentioned anything at all.

Amazing, how quickly Rosa's expression could switch from mildly amused to mildly homocidal.

"Please tell me your little universe saving adventure also sucked," she said. "I actually don't want to hate you."

Which was still quite a compliment, coming from Rosa.

"I did get beat on a lot," Miguel said. "So take that whichever way you like. Why; wanna beat on me some more?"

Hey, he was up for it, if she needed to get some aggression out.

"I mean," said Rosa, "if you're offering..."

Hitting kids with sticks was fun and all, but a spar with Tightpants was just an entirely different level.

Though it really didn't have much to do with needing to get any aggression out. No more so than usual, anyway, though, if pressed, she'd admit it was just nice that she could actuall curl her hands into fists again, bend her legs, unbend her arms, and wasn't wearing a freaking tu-tu anymore, too.

"With or without giant q-tips?" Miguel asked, grinning.

Rosa considered it probably a bit more than would have normally be necessary.

"I think," she concluded, "we've both had enough giant q-tips for one day."

"I've had enough of those things for a year at least," Miguel said. "Okay." He spread his arms in a 'come at me' gesture. "One man-shaped punching bag it is."

"So, right here, right now, huh?" asked Rosa, who certainly wouldn't complain. The class could be considered a decent warm-up, and he was just standing there like a (seemingly) open target.

She didn't believe for a second that that target would remain so open.

"Okay, then."

But she was going to enjoy the view of it for a second before moving in for a clean right hook toward his face...that was intended to serve as just a decoy for the left jab heading for his stomach.

Miguel dodged the face-punch but missed the other until the last minute, which meant he caught it on his hip instead.

"Morph says hi, by the way. I think he was feeling suicidal at the time."

Rosa'd take a hip check; she'd take it and try to move with it and Tightpants' dodge, pivoting away but bringing up her hands as she did, in the hopes to grab his arm in passing and set herself up for what could be a decent attempt at a toss.

"I swear," she grunted as she execute the move, "he just does it to annoy me."

Which, you know, low bar there, Morph.

"Well, yeah." Miguel shrugged and let her toss him, landing on his feet again...on the wall. Details.

"He does things just to annoy everyone he likes; why should you be different?"

Rosa was slightly torn between whether it was actually hard to be mad at someone landing a toss when they landed it on a wall, or if that actually was worse, but there was nod enying that it opened up challenges she rarely got anywhere else.

"I don't trust anyone who'd claim to like me," she stated, going into a spin so that she could get the most momentum out of putting those long dancer legs to use in a high kick.

"Well, we already know I'm untrustworthy," Miguel said with a grin. He jumped out of the way and back onto the ground.
