"You know," said Rosa, addressing her students and fellow teachers once it was time to begin class, tilting her head thoughtfully, introspectively, "after a week like last week, sometimes, the best thing to do is just take some time, reflect, relax, maybe meditate a little and look into ourselves to find some sort of inner peace and tranquility..."

She let that hang for about two seconds.

"Ha. Just kidding. We're hitting each other with giant sticks. Let's go."

Miguel dodged back and did his best to block the strike, swinging around a bit clumsily for his own. Hey, he didn't fight with staffs.

And Vette didn't generally, but she was a scrapper who could hold her own against... well. Plenty of people, anyway. So she was grinning as she simply ducked under that swing and jabbed in hard at his guts, next.

And Miguel, having unhooked himself to get out of the way earlier, was overbalanced, leaped deftly out of the way...and ended up on the wrong side of the line.

"Shock." He grumbled and tossed his q-tip away.
