US Government (Friday, March 31, 4th period)
"Hope you've all brought your bills with you for class discussion," Josh said when the Government class was seated.
"Pretend you are Senators from your home states. If you're not from this country, um, pretend that you're from Illinois. Because things need to play well in Peoria, right?" He laughed.
Yes, he's an enormous dork. Moving on.
"Ask question of the bill's sponsor--decide if this is something that your voters would support. Heck, you're the elected representative of them--decide if it's something you support."
He grinned. "And in keeping with the rules of the Senate, no name calling or hair-pulling. Long and boring speeches are encouraged."
He sat down and pointed at random to a student. "Let's get started. Wow me."

Re: Present your bills
"I'm proposing a bill that would change the current inch pound system of measurement over unto the metric system. Why? Because every other place in the world uses the metric system except the US. Now, I know we like to be different but all of us remember how difficult it was to learn conversions in math. If we were to go onto the same system as the rest of the world, there would be no need to study both systems. Yes, this would cause money due to the possible changes needed to signs, books, and the like but, in the end? It would be easier and it would be universal."
