Adaptability And You, Monday, 2nd Period
Kanan, in sixteen-bit and clad head to toe in the most ridiculous tanuki onesie the world had possibly ever seen, crossed his arms over his chest and... mostly just stood there looking at his class as though daring them to say anything about it, today.
"It's mushrooms and turtles this week, apparently," he said, "and apparently they're biters. But - and admittedly this is the case for most things - just stomping on their heads should be enough to fend them off, and they're easy enough to avoid anyway. So, with that in mind, today we're going to go hit some bricks. In groups. And then we're going to collect whatever comes out. So far I've found money and," sigh, "a leaf."
He didn't want to talk about it.
"The money's pretty straightforward. Pocket it, spend it wherever, I guess. I don't care. What we're looking for are more leaves, or whatever else there is that might help us get the upper hand this week." He sighed again, and then gestured to himself. "You end up stuck in one of these after you grab the leaf, but the tail lets you fly for... whatever reason. So it might be useful. Or at least fun."
Possibly a little redundant if you could already leap tall buildings in a single bound, but okay.
"I have no idea what else is in those blocks yet, hell, most of them have nothing at all, so let's all pair off and take a look around the campus."
He'd regret this the moment one of his students ran through holding a flower and throwing fireballs.

Pair off and break stuff!
And then there are the mushrooms, if you ever wanted to know what it was like to be roughly twice your usual height.
That won't at all be inconvenient, right? But at least whatever power-up you get seems to grant you an extra layer of protection until something bites you. So there's that.
Re: Pair off and break stuff!
He, of course, though, was loving it. "Ha-ha!" he bellowed, with en excited pump of his fist. "So this is what it'll feel like to be king!"
Of course, being twice Sidon's height meant being so big you really couldn't see what was going on around your ankles very well, meaning it didn't take too long for him to get bit by one of those turtles and shrink back down to his usual proportions with no small amount of disappointment.
"Ah, well," he said, then grinned, hoping up on a few blocks to reach some that were a little higher, "I suppose I'll just have to find another!"

Talk to Kanan!
They're both wrong, it's a tanuki.
Anyway, he's around if anyone has a burning need to tell him how great he looks in sixteen bits with fuzzy ears and a big fluffy tail.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Summer listened to radio, Kanan. She knew what was up and that you had class today and now she was here to bear witness to it with her own two little pixel eyes and to take all the sixteen-bit pictures of it, too.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
"... Not you too, Summer."
Yes, Kanan. Yes, Summer, too.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
"Do you think, when this whole thing passes, the pictures will go back to normal or stay pixelated? Either way, I mean, amazing. AH. MAZE. ING. Truly. I think we might have a whole new look we need to consider for you, Beeg."
Re: Talk to Kanan!
"... I have no idea, Summer," Kanan deadpanned. You could tell by his tone of voice. His expression really didn't change much.
It had already been deadpan.
"But I can tell you now, this isn't sticking around if I can help it."
Re: Talk to Kanan!
She blinked her little pixel eyes and gave the sweetest smile she could muster, which was, admittedly, still pretty sweet.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
So, it was, probably, a costume. Probably. But the way Kanan's pixel tail puffed up and the way his ears slicked back definitely suggested otherwise.
"I can't even take a seat in any chair with a back to it," he muttered. "Too much tail."
So, so much tail.
"I didn't ask for this," he added.
Kanan, you touched the leaf.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Kanan paused a moment, and then shrugged and supplied, "It could be the frog suit."
Stance got that one.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
...
"....there's a frog one???"
And if you had trouble telling if that was indignation or delight, don't worry. It was definitely both.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Kanan had taken the photo of Stance partly because he knew people were going to want to see it, and partly as a distraction from the weirdest urge he'd had to shoot at the ducks that morning during Stance's walk.
Talk to the TA!
