Adaptability And You, Monday, 2nd Period
Right, so there was no creeping horror outside. That was a good thing! Hell, if Kanan was the singing sort, he'd be singing the praises of this new and improved situation from the rooftops! Honest.
... This week might come and go without him even realizing what the strangeness was.
"So it's a safe one this week, folks," he shared, having sent the students directions to a particular spot on the beach. There was no way in hell he wasn't taking advantage of it being safe to do so, no. He'd brought bottled water and fruits and there appeared to be a net set up in the sand. "Which means today we're going to work on movement in difficult terrain. And hand-eye coordination."
Sure, Kanan.
"Grab a ball and a partner, stand on opposite sides of the net, and hit that thing back and forth. Don't let it touch the sand if you can help it. Don't fall if you can help it. And, because this is Fandom, if you have any abilities or tools at your disposal that might make this exercise easier for you, please feel free to give them a try. Just communicate what you're about to do to your partner if it's something potentially dangerous."
Yes, class, today was beach volleyball day: Powers on.

Re: Talk to Kanan!
That would definitely lead to detention.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
No way! Sabine was, like, way cool and super destructive and well put together and--
Nina had to lean up to get a better look at this. Because, like, what.
Vette made sense as a bird! Vette was flighty and skittish and cute as a button and--
Sabine, what?
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Kanan held his arm up slightly so that Nina could get her look. You know. Just casually.
"No eating," he reiterated. And then paused before adding, "You've got someone looking out for you after class, Nina?"
He didn't want to have to make space for a whole petting zoo of students if he could help it.
Re: Talk to Kanan!
Luckily for Kanan, that question pulled Nina's attention away from Sabine--who would look more appetizing, she was pretty sure, if she hadn't managed to eat breakfast already--and back on to him.
And, like, okay, Vette was sometimes flaky about pet care, but Nina was still pretty convinced that her bestie would take care of her. And, like, if not, Nina was pretty sure she could send Foomy on an Epic Quest to hunt down Prompto.
So she gave him a hissy little laugh and nodded in the direction of the dorms. She had people!
Which was amazing, really, and just gave her all the warm fuzzies. She had people who'd look after her! Amazing!
Re: Talk to Kanan!
But her reply seemed to mollify him, and he nodded faintly.
"Good," he replied. "These things are generally easier when there's someone with thumbs around to assist."
Re: Talk to Kanan!
She had wings, Grumpy Bus Driver! Wings!
Thumbs were great, but she'd cope with the loss of them for a little bit, just to have wings!
Re: Talk to Kanan!
"Doesn't seem like a half-bad trade, true," he allowed. "I generally just start to miss having my caf in the mornings. But I don't end up with wings."
