Tip was glad Fandom was no longer an unnavigable labyrinth and all, but she could absolutely do without the "world is on fire" sky the island had going this morning. She'd seen a few of those during the Boov invasion year, and the reminders were making her twitchy.
Bill was doing his best to lighten the mood by performing his bubble ballet in progress -- it was quite a thing to see, really -- but the books were . . . less than cooperative. They were, in fact, holding some sort of horror fiction parade, filling the area around the circulation desk with lurid covers featuring dripping red lettering and screaming faces.
"Come on, guys," Tip said with a sigh. "You couldn't at least go for those weird gothic ones with the wistful heroines? I always liked eerie better than bloody."
The answer, apparently, was "no."
