Cutthroat Games, Monday, July 8, 2019
Anakin who had not gotten lost in the maze all week NO REALLY HE HADN'T, was at the front of the class playing with tiny board game pieces and giving Aeryn a smirk. He was winning RISK today, dammit.
"Welcome to today's class on a game called RISK," Aeryn told them. "It is a game that is very important to both of us, that Anakin loses."
Putting it out in the universe.

NORTH AMERICA:
Alaska, Northwest Territory, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Oikiqtaluk, Greenland, Western US, Eastern US, Hawaii, Central America
SOUTH AMERICA:
Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, Falkland Islands
EUROPE:
Svalbard, Scandinavia, Iceland, Great Britain, W. Europe, N. Europe, S. Europe, Ukraine
AFRICA:
North Africa, Egypt, East Africa, Congo, South Africa, Madagascar
ASIA:
Middle East, Afghanistan, Ural, Siberia, Yakutsk, Irkutsk, Kamchatka, Japan, Mongolia, China, Siam, India
AUSTRALIA:
Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea, Western Australia, Eastern Australia, New Zealand
Anakin was scowling very hard, even though he knew that didn't affect Aeryn in the slightest. "This is a very fun game about taking over the world using dice, and tiny fake armies."
And sulking. Soooo much sulking.
"You will be given Earth countries to start from, and I'm not sure how accurate some of these are at any point in time," Aeryn continued, not even paying attention to the scowling. "On your turn you'll try to invade a surrounding country, or add armies to what you already have."
"If you win the high score, you get the country. The one with the most countries--other than me--at the end of the game win," Anakin said. "It's fun and only slightly violent."
"Unless anyone throws the board," Aeryn said.
"Well, be sure to duck," Anakin said a little waspishly.
"And no cheating," she said, looking directly at him this time.

THE GAME
ROUND ONE
Anakin: Western Australia, Western US, Alberta, Indonesia, N. Europe, Scandinavia, Yakutsk
Aeryn: Argentina, Kamchatka, Ukraine, Ontario, Madagascar, India, New Guinea
Billy: Middle East, Iceland, Brazil, Japan, Siam, Eastern US, North Africa
Lana: Mongolia, Irkutsk, East Africa, W. Europe, Venezuela, Ural, Oikiqtaluk
Bobby: Falkland Islands, Alaska, Quebec, South Africa, Congo, Great Britain, Hawaii
Sidon: Northwest Territory, Afghanistan, Siberia, Svalbard, Peru, Philippines, Egypt
Janet: Central America, New Zealand, Greenland, China, S. Europe, Eastern Australia
Sorry, Janet. You now have two teachers gunning for you because of old high school reasons.
[OOC: In your turn, tell us where you are placing the majority of your armies and the direction you're attacking, then flip one RNG coin to discover if you prevailed or not. (Heads you get the territory, tails you don't. Please don't cheat. That's no fun.) I'll put up the next round in OCD once everyone has had a chance to go, and we are prepared to play into next year ;)]
Re: ROUND ONE
Sorry not sorry, Janet.
And then he came up short, so the sulking had started early, kids.
Re: ROUND ONE
And got it! Now she had a sizable territory all together. This was a good sart.
Re: ROUND ONE
...yeah, Sidon was not going to be good at this game.
But at least he seemed to be having fun so far?
Re: ROUND ONE
Re: ROUND ONE
Still, it was just a game, so, in the spirit of that, he would try his best.
Most of his armies were going into Afghanistan and Egypt, as it seemed to be quite in the center of it all, which meant the Middle East was clearly the obvious choice to try to overtake first, sandwiched as it was in the middle of them.
So he made the attempt, letting out a slightly relieved but also a little disappointed, "Oh, fish," when he proved unsuccessful.
Re: ROUND ONE
And that worked out for her.
Also, "I think this game is old."

Re: ROUND ONE
Re: ROUND ONE
Re: ROUND ONE
She also wasn't a fan of where she was starting, so she just tried to go straight for China.
And didn't get it. Ugh.

Re: ROUND ONE
ROUND TWO
Aeryn: Argentina, Kamchatka, Ukraine, Ontario, Madagascar, India, New Guinea
Billy: Middle East, Iceland, Brazil, Japan, Eastern US, North Africa
Lana: Mongolia, Irkutsk, East Africa, W. Europe, Venezuela, Ural, Oikiqtaluk, Siberia
Bobby: Falkland Islands, Alaska, Quebec, South Africa, Congo, Great Britain, Hawaii
Sidon: Northwest Territory, Afghanistan, Svalbard, Peru, Philippines, Egypt
Janet: Central America, New Zealand, Greenland, China, S. Europe, Eastern Australia, Siam
[OOC: Billy and Bobby remain unchanged unless they lost territory to classmates. Again with the flipping of ye olde fake coin (or a real one, I don't know your life) to determine if you get any new territory.]
Re: ROUND TWO
Sorry Billy.
"FINALLY!" he cried as he won and moved his army in entirely too happily.
If you look up "sore winner" in the dictionary, you get a picture of Anakin.
Re: ROUND TWO
Mmm hm.

She got it. And smiled.
[Sorry, Anakin, the coin said heads!]

Usually through cheating, but details.

Re: ROUND TWO
Not that she wasn't a little smug to get something the Jedi wanted.

Re: Talk to the Teachers
OOC
RNG didn't decide who won because it's way more fun to play this out :)
