Working Together: How Not to be an A-Hole - Monday - Third Period
Getting to the school had been an adventure. Jack had slung her boots over her shoulder, rolled up her cargo pants, and stomped through the water. Gondoliers had tried to offer help. One of them got too close and made the mistake of touching her arm and Jack had punched him right out of his own boat. What's the saying? Those that can't do, teach? Right.
She made it to the Danger Shop and got it set up. Once again with the confidence course down the middle. One of the side walls had been covered with paper. There was a pile of drawing material - everything from chalk and charcoal to scented markers - in front of it.
Down one side was a list:
Coatimundi
Giraffe
Alpaca
As the students filed in, Jack began. "Welcome back. So far we've had Lana and Prompto as captains so they're off the list, and you've bypassed the course and thrown it out of the way, so bypassing or destroying the course are also off the list. Good job last week getting your team to kick video game ass, Prompto.
Once your team has figured out the confidence course and all members are accounted for, the next task is drawing the animals on the list. The captain will be the person to draw. However, what the captain draws is what you tell the captain to draw. You may not use devices to look up the animals. You may consult among yourselves. Every member of the team must participate in describing every animal.
There's also a discussion point when you're done: What have you learned about your teammates so far? How will what you've learned help you in the next few classes?"
She waved an idle hand at the confidence course. "Have at."

Choose a captain
Re: Choose a captain
"I'm super not an artist, guys," he noted. "Pretty sure someone else is going to have to do this one."
Besides, he knew what giraffes looked like already.
Confidence course!
Re: Confidence course!
Was it going to be her mission to try to never have to do this thing? You bet.
Re: Confidence course!
Norman was impressed, yes. All he could do was see stuff.
And make glowy lights, and small summoning spells, and have visions, and there was the occasional terrible idea with magical shields, apparently...

Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
Eos pretty much had cats and dogs and crows, but after that, it was pretty much bonkers as far as other animals went.
Re: Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
Because Neil often sent him links to the weirdest things on his phone.
Re: Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
That sounded odd.
Re: Coatimundi
Norman frowned a little. That wasn't quite what he was getting at, no.
"I mean, draw a brontosaurus and pretend the tail is the head and the head is the tail...?"
Re: Coatimundi
Whoever the captain ended up being.
Re: Coatimundi
Norman. Norman you were reaching for the art supplies, bud. Norman, no.
Re: Coatimundi
Lana hid a smile. "So, a long neck."
Re: Coatimundi
You just played yourself, Norman.
"The long necked ones that actually have the long necks are the giraffes."
Re: Coatimundi
Re: Coatimundi
Well, it was definitely a shape, with shorter legs and a tail that was a head and a head that was a tail. Norman wasn't kidding when he said he wasn't much of an artist, but at least he could put lines to paper.
Giraffe!
Alpaca!
Alpaca are serious business, ok?

Eh. She might as well get used to it, because that was going to be about half the experience of following Ryder around Havarl.
. . . in 700-something years, but details.

BENEFIT FROM THEM, I SAY!
All that trauma had to be good for something, right? Right? [insert mad laughter here]
