Your Plan is Now on Fire [Tue, Period 3]

Aphra was having class in the Danger Shop, because of course she was. She was also late, because of course she was.

"So, plans. They're great. At least when they go to, y'know, plan." Deathless words of wisdom there, Aphra. "Thing is they mostly don't. For example, I never planned on teaching high school students on what's pretty much a backwater planet, but things happen, like having your murder happy boss decide to terminate your employment. Literally. I mean, some of you probably didn't plan on taking this class." That was mostly directed at anyone she recognised.

"But that's the point of this class, learning to deal with the unexpected."

That was when the ninjas attacked.

She has mad planning skillz, for reals.

Yeah, Sidon had to admit, especially after that point about those who didn't plan to take this class, he was really starting to wonder what Muzu was thinking by still signing him up for Dr. Aphra's classes in particular. He, of course, didn't mind, but it was very clear that the Royal Advisor had no idea what any of her classes were actually like.

He was terribly amused about the whole thing, though, really, and merely hoped that this class involved quite a bit less lying than the last....though he'd have to admit, lately, he actually had found his experiences a bit useful lately.

Droid Ninjas, because of course.

And, having taken many of Dr. Aphra's classes already, Sidon was not too terribly surprised that they should be suddenly attacked by ninjas on the very first class, but he was rather thrilled about it. A bit disappointed, naturally, that he might not get to do an introducion, as he so very much enjoyed those, but there were plenty of opportunities for introductions still ahead, and fighting unexpected ninjas would never not be a blast.

Personally, he was rather hoping these ones might be good at swarming. If last week had taught him anything, it was that the quality of his particular fighting prowess was sometimes no match for the quantity of a very determined swarm.

Luckily for Sidon, though maybe not anyone else, the droid ninjas were looking quite a lot like a swarm. A very murdery swarm.

"I suppose them not being on fire is part of the 'unexpected'," Tip said.

And dove for cover.

Yeah, about that "not on fire" thing...

"This will be fun!" Shuri said, grinning as she dove for cover and looked for a weapon, or something to modify into a weapon.

She'd been trained by the Dora Milaje. If she couldn't hold her own against fake...robot ninja...things...she'd never hear the end of it.

Oh, the sweet sounds of someone completely unfamiliar with Aphra's lack of teaching methods.

"That's the spirit!"

"Thanks," Shuri called back. "Don't suppose you've hidden weapons somewhere?"

"Of course. Of course," Keyleth said with a little laugh, and pulled a small chunk of iron out of her spell component pouch. "Glad I decided to pack this one today."

Heat Metal was a new spell for her, and today seemed like a great time to try it out! It . . . Probably would have been more effective if there had been a living being inside the metal casing who would actually get injured by the suddenly red-hot droid chassis, but at least if it crashed into any of the other droid ninjas it might set them on fire?

And that, at least, she could try to help along by conjuring up some wind gusts to maybe shove one or two of them into the glowing and extremely hot (literally, although hey, if that was someone else's type, no judgment) ninja.

Congratulations, Keyleth, the droid ninjas were now on fire.

Although they didn't seem inclined to stop fighting yet...

The best teacher ever.
