Ballet for Beginners; First Period [04/19].

Rosa had almost considered just writing the semester off as finished early and not bothering with a final class. She was pretty sure none of the kids would be heartbroken about it--

--actually, no, if she thought about it, most of these weirdos actually seemed to have really enjoyed this dumb class and seemed nerdy enough that they actually might have been disappointed if they didn't have a last class. Not that they should have expected much, but she supposed it wouldn't hurt to make a good showing and actually finish things out.

"Okay, so," she said. "Our last class. I'm sure you guys learned something, but I'm also pretty sure that none of you are ever going to really use any of this in your normal lives. But still, let's see if you actually did learn something. Once we get warmed up, I want you guys to pick out of some music and put together something to show me and the rest of the class. Make your own choreography that uses at least two of the different moves you learned this semester. And then that's it. You're done. You never have to think about ballet ever again."

Unless they wanted to.

Weirdos.

After some careful thought and consideration, Sidon had found a piece of music that seemed to appeal to him on a very deep level that he couldn't quite understand that also seemed very suited to the style of dance, and put to it a series of steps that started with some mildly awkward steps, but he was mostly focusing on his arms, and then a couple of leaps (which would never feel as impressive as they could be, his legs were just too short), but he finished it up with some of those chaine turns that really made the long fins on his elbows flow beautifully, and finished with his best attempt at keeping a piroette going for as long as he could.

Which was...actually for a pretty long time. Three good revolutions all on their own, and a kick of his leg to push him into another two, fins and headtail swirling around him for a nice effect (he assumed; it looked marvelous in his head, really).

It would have been significantly more impressive if there was water involved, but for being entirely on dry land, he thought he'd done exceptionally well for himself!
