Since she'd woken up yesterday, Lana had been shadowed by a small bundle of Force-wielding half-Chiss energy. Today she managed for part of the day to get Marshan to settle down with the children's books (she was telling them stories), but then the girl got bored and decided to head out.
It wasn't as though Lana could tell her not to; clearly Marshan had been fine on her own yesterday morning, and the island seemed safe enough at the moment. Anyway, this gave Lana some time on her own to research when this might have happened on the island before. And Chiss history, since apparently she might need it at some point in the future.
The library was open!
