When Lana arrived that morning, the books were completely normal. A number of them were, however, being slept upon by a rather rumpled man with a cat.
Lana sighed, woke him up, and gave him a stern look. "I understand wanting to study, but if you've been here since yesterday, you clearly need a wash and food if nothing else. Go get something. You can come back when you've eaten and woken up." She shooed him out.
The books...gave her looks as soulful as they could without eyes. She sighed. "If he wants to read you more, he'll be back. Humans need food, and you are not pillows." Even if she'd pulled more than her share of all-nighters herself.
"Come on, let's tidy up."
Today would be spent herding books, apparently.
