Welcome back to class, everyone! The teachers were obviously still feeling the Icelandic vibe today, as evidenced by them rocking out some nice thematic sweaters. Sweaters that one of them was significantly more excited about than the other.

Go on, guess which one. Just guess!

"Hey, everyone," Summer started brightly. "The week after a big trip is always a rough one in getting back on track and everything, but, luckily, with a class like this one, we can actually use our experiences to learn."

"Yay learning," Kanan said, in that very flat tone of voice that said that he would have been just as happy doing his teaching in, say, his usual shirt. "This week we're going to talk about our trip. No need for the danger shop today, and hey, look, I won't end up throwing rancors at you this week. You're welcome."

He kind of wished there were rancors.

But you just know Summer would have put those rancors in itchy wool sweaters. She grinned a little. "So, basically, Iceland's a different country, a different continent, a different culture. So it just makes sense to take some time and discuss what the experience was like in the context of our class, you know? So tell us your thoughts. What was something you found different or weird but you really enjoyed? Or something you found different and weird and definitely didn't enjoy?"

"I, for one, enjoyed all the nature," Kanan noted. "But could probably have coped with slightly less 'sitting on a bus.'"

Again. And again. And again. And again...

This from a guy who kind of had a reputation as the guy who drove the bus, these days.

"And I really, really enjoyed all the scenic views," Summer added, which was absolutely, one-hundred-percent her safe-for-school way of referring some nice Nordic eye candy, "but I was not so much a fan of how fish-heavy a lot of the local cuisine was."

"And I didn't mind the fish so much," Kanan noted, "but I'll eat pretty much anything."

... Except chocolate, after Valentine's day. And never. Ever. Ever again.

"So, that's it, guys," Summer shrugged. "Pretty easy, laid-back class this week, let's just share some stories and talk about our experiences with the culture of Iceland. Any volunteers to go first?"

There isn't much of one, no, but there's enough of one for you to admire those sweet, sweet sweaters.

What did you enjoy most about your experiences with Icelandic culture? What could you have probably done without? Any stories from the trip you've been itching to share with people? Share your thoughts, bounce off each other, spread the shared-experience love! And maybe even get out of class a little early! Because it's the week after a trip, who wants to actually even do stuff?

Summer was there! Obviously! And still kind of wondering if she should have gotten a sweater for Stance, too, but covering Stance's spots would be an instant downgrade.

She hadn't even considered a sweater for Pancakes. Because cat.

Kanan was also here. And was managing to not make too many faces over the sweater. Really.

It was cute. Summer had said so.

This class hour couldn't end soon enough.

"I wish I'd learned more of the language before going so I could interact with the people better," Sabine said. She was working on it now. "But everything about it was beautiful. And I couldn't even get to all the museums."

"Yeah," Summer grinned faintly in understanding, "a language barrier can put a real damper on really getting to connect with a different culture, especially since you can't even really depend on gestures sometimes. Some gestures can be fine in one culture, but mean something completely different in another."

Especially when there were people like Summer's grampa running around, telling aliens that flipping the bird around meant 'peace among worlds.'

Summer's grampa was an ass.

"Anything you did get to that you might recommend as a must-see to anyone visiting?" she asked. Not that she'd be chomping at the bit to check it out herself; museums weren't exactly her scene, but it seemed a good discussion point if anything.

"The lights, the ice cave, rhe sculpture walk... It was good fir scenery and people-watching along with getting culture," she answered.

"Totally with you on that ice cave," Summer enthused. "That was cool as hell."

No pun intended. Seriously. Because gross, no.

Lana Beniko

"I could've done without quite so much cold and buses," Lana said. Especially since nobody on her bus seemed to even talk.

"But the scenery and history were interesting, and some of the food was really good."

"One thing about the buses, though," said Summer, trying to be positive although, yeah, she had been in the bus with the baby, she definitely could feel anyone on complaints (although, really, the baby had been almost eerily well-behaved), "was that they did allow us to see a lot of that scenery, and not just the highlights where we stopped. But, yeah. Beautiful country. Too bad about the cold."

"True," Lana admitted. "But they were so slow. Add that to the cultural differences - I can't believe how long it takes to get anywhere here."
