The Art of Honesty, Tuesday 4th Period

"Funny story. Amongst other things, I completely forgot to prepare class this weekend." This was a lie. She just hadn't bothered. "Which means it's a great time to practise your improv skills, because you won't always have time to figure out a good lie."

This was a more common problem than they might think. Or not, if they'd been in enough classes with Aphra.

"So, improv, you get to explain to the nice stormtroopers why you're in their secret base. Protip, they're not fond of 'I'm lost'."

Prince Sidon

Fun fact: Sidon actually had a really bad track record with Stormtroopers with these sorts of simulations. The only one he'd felt he'd successfully managed to manuever his way out of in previous classes involved him escaping through a very disgusting sewer system. That didn't quite seem an option here, and, since his other approaches never seemed to do a very good job, so, this time around, perhaps, he would go for an angle he didn't usually go for.

But one that would still maintain a great deal of honesty, to help him continue to try to prove his point against the class.

And so those nice people were pointing those blasters at a very offended, very shocked, very big and strong and tall Zora.

"I beg your pardon," he scoffed, lifting his chin importantly. "Don't you know who I am?!?"

Ugh. He felt dirtier now than he had emerging from that sewer!

Keyleth

Keyleth tried to stumble her way through a whole ~~handwaved because I haven't had coffee yet~~ spiel about being here to inspect the facility to make sure quality of life standards were up to spec for the people stationed there. Because that was such a priority concern for Imperials or something.

She managed to do okay for a sentence or two! And then she blurted out, "I'm just really concerned about how well all of you can breathe in those helmets, isn't that kind of unhealthy? Aaaaand now you're just looking at me and I really don't know how to read that reaction, and, um -- look, I'm lost, okay?"

This was probably going to end up with her in jail, wasn't it?

That might even have worked if the Empire hadn't included a big old helping of racism in with the fascism.

"Some kind of uppity Mon Cal?" Rude, he much more closely resembled an oversized Karkarodon, guys.

If she was lucky.

The troopers raised their blasters.

Yeaaaahhhh. Sidon was pretty much doomed to never get Stormtroopers right. Not without having to go through a lot of shit first.

...literally.

"So you insult me further, I see." Sidon didn't mean that, Mon Cals! He was very sure you were a very lovely people! And he was not enjoying this approach at all, but he figured he'd better stick with it until the surely untimely end. "I'll have you know, I am here on an exceptionally clandestine diplomatic mission, and I highly doubt your superiors would be pleased to discover you've been going around pointing blasters at royal guests. Now, if you'll excuse me, I would think it wise if we all went our separate ways and returned to our own business."

Right. Okay. Keyleth had no real idea what those weapons were, but she could recognize a threatening gesture when she saw it.

With a tiny meep, she brought her hands up. "I promise you, I have no ill intentions whatsoever toward your people. I don't even know who you are."

Probably not helping your case, Kiki.
